I took your advice

and made centerpiece mock ups this weekend.

Which do you like. (the tulips are supposed to be white) Is their anything you would change? Should I add another flower or babies breath? I feel like there isnt enough blue in the arrangements but I dont really like any blue flowers I have seen. Do you have any other ideas where I can add tiffany blue to the tables? Thanks so much :)

Yay! These are great! Since we were talking about this last, I went to the dollar tree to find some cheap roses to make into a bouquet to use for my dress try on tomorrow! I really like the third picture! I also have to say that the runner is really beautiful, the little deer is adorable, and I also love the little bottle. One non-flower way I could think of adding blue would be in the runner or in some candles. I don't know if you even like candles or not. I know you said that you don't like any blue flowers, but last year I got some potted guardian delphiniums from home depot that were a beautiful blue color. They bloom in the summer, so I don't know if that coincides with your wedding. I am also not sure if you can order them from a florist or from a flower wholesaler. The only other flower that I can think of is blue hydrangeas. I'm going to check out some wedding sites and see if I can think of anything else.

Have you joined weddingwire.com yet? They have a section on their website for "pictures". Once you click the photos link you can click on a color and see pictures from that category. Then you can narrow your search by choosing a subcategory like, flowers, reception, dress, cake, etc. It has been very helpful for me to find wedding cakes with red roses on them, and find other pictures of black and white wedding gowns and accessories to go with them. Here's the link

  • very nice! i like #1 the best.

i think that the tulips are perfect - maybe add some more greens to the roses because they dont have many leaves themselves - the vase looks a little empty compared to the tulip one

  • Oh, I also wanted to add that I like the first picture too. I like the order that the vases are in and the way the the tulips are going in different directions. :)

  • I like #1 the best. I think everything looks very well put together on the wood block. I also prefer the tulips in the cylinder vase rather than the milk jar. I agree with PP about leaving some leaves on the roses. I know those are fake so you probably didn't have much choice.

To add some blue, here are some suggestions:
Add a blue candle holder (this is cobalt not tiffany)
Tie a handkerchief around one of the vases
Are you having table numbers? If so, include blue with those
Add blue to the table runner. Maybe add some trim or have a square of blue under the flowers.

  • I also like the first one the best.  What if you printed a vintage style label in blue for the bottle?  That could add some blue and also dress it up a bit?  http://www.i-do-it-yourself.com/ seems to have quite a few printable vintage labels.

Hmm...now that I am looking at it again, I also like number 3.  The runner is really cute, and I like the tulips in the milk jar.

I agree with mn2italy that a colbalt blue candle holder could add nice pop of blue as well.
  • i have seen pics of like gerber daisies in glass jars as centerpieces. have you thought about maybe blue daisies? would add the color and a horizontal element to the flower arrangements since tulips are so vertical.
i am going to stock up on vintage handkerchiefs, ebay has plenty of lots that have a whole variety of colors and styles. have you thought about something like that?

i did a search and found this on ebay

  • The only blue flowers I really like are hydrangeas, but I don't know if that would go with the look you're going for. If you do add blue (which, I don't think you need to at all!) I would do something very small, like a thin ribbon around the top and not the middle, or maybe some light aqua colored rocks in the water with the flowers. I would go subtle with the blue if you really feel you need it. I love it as is. :)

  • what would I do with the hankies???

  • i'm making my centerpieces double as favors, so people can take what they like--handkerchiefs being one of those small things that works for the concept. i will prob put them in vintage bowls I have or little boxes I find at antique markets.

You can tie them around one of the vases. Here are some pics:
