Weird Eating Habbits?

Re: Weird Eating Habbits?

  • i always make sure i save what i perceive to be the absolute best bite for last. THIS x's a billion!  I have to make sure I have a little bit of everything on the last wonderful bite.
  • LesPaul - I'm right there with ya. Fries and Frosties are amazing!
  • Sarabellum--Every time I eat it, people are grossed out.  I tell them, if they try it, they wouldn't be grossed out.

  • I put crushed red chili flakes on almost everything I eat.  It spices up my food without changing its flavor.  I don't have a whole lot of weird eating habits.  Blame my parents.  If you didn't eat what was served or how it was served.  You just didn't eat. So I adjusted pretty quickly.

  • i like grilled cheese with peanut butter.i will dip my grilled cheese (without pb) into ketchup.i love el tapatio sauce on almost everything - eggs, burgers, fries, bloody marys, etc.i love chips on my sandwiches.i used to eat butter sandwiches-butter and white bread, sometimes some jelly.  i just didn't like toast.  i only mildly like toast now.i cannot eat anything with nuts or coconut.  i can't do those at all.i also don't like anything in the melon family and that makes me sad.my canadian bf puts ketchup on his mac&cheese (or tapatio-i got him into the best condiment ever!)  he also drinks olive and pickle brine.and last-try an avocado mashed and spread on white bread or white toast and sprinkle it with sugar.  sounds gross?  maybe.  tastes great?  absolutely!

  • I love stale peeps too!!  My father taught me that.  I also count out my food.  Like for lunch I will occasionally have only 6 carrot sticks.  If I have any more, I put it aside, if I have less I have a mini panic attack.  I also chew my food 15 times if possible.

  • oh, and i like to eat the middle of a reese's peanut butter cup before the edges because i think those are the best.  i used to save the best bit for last until i discovered that i would enjoy it more if i ate it first.  sometimes i would get too full to enjoy it.one last weird thing:  when i was a kid, i had a compulsion to put a bit of everything in my mouth at the same time.  weird.i agree with cacoffer on the eat how it's served philosophy growing up.  My mom used to spaz when we'd put ketchup on something like meatloaf.  "You didn't even try it!  How do you know that it needs ketchup."  simmer down, ma, it's only ketchup.

  • Cacoffer, the rule in my house is that if you don't like what is being served, you know where the peanut butter, jelly, and bread are kept. Yes, I made my 4 year-old child fix her own sandwich. I can count on 1 hand the number of times either of my children had to do it. They are 11 and 8 now.
  • I HATE plastic sliverware and plastic plates and plastic glasses.  I always eat off of glass, and only drink from glass.  Unless I am eating a Mexican pizza from Taco Bell...then I must have a spork or it tastes wrong. And I must admit that Tim's  eating habits lead me to assume he must be an annoying person in general.

  • along with Bailey..i always eat my grilled cheese with ketchup. and with nacho cheese doritos.FI always eats corn on the cob with mayo instead of butter.he also makes his own salsa and he eats the salsa with everything! like on salad, pasta, bread, mashed potatoes..
  • I put mustard on frozen burritos! I also could eat mustard off a spoon. :)
  • I've developed a weird habit of putting raspberry jalopeno jelly on almost everything I eat, but only if it's home made by this woman I discovered at a craft fair a few years ago. I could live on this woman's jellies.

  • he also makes his own salsa and he eats the salsa with everything! like on salad, pasta, bread, mashed potatoes..that sounds so good!
  • sarah-yea some of it is pretty good..but i think its weird he'll eat almost half a loaf of bread just drenched in salsa. lol
  • I was thinking more of sliced talian bread. A whole loaf is a bit much, his tummy must ache lol.
  • I'm another peanut butter and cheese person.  But it has to be cheez whiz not real cheese.  That was my favourite sandwich as a kid.  It's been years since I've had one though because no one else in the house likes cheez whiz so I don't buy it anymore.Another favourite is chip butties.  French fry sandwiches.  They're really common back home in England so I grew up with them but everyone over here looks at me like I've got a second head if I suggest making one.
  • I eat my salads in order (tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, mushrooms, lettuce).  If we have 3 things for dinner (meat, starch and veggie) I have to eat all of one thing before I start on something else, no one bite veggie, one bite meat, and all over the plate.  It's gotta be in order!  Plates with compartments are awesome.  If we get fast food I can't eat my fries till I eat my sandwich/burger, it was a rule when we were kids and I can't shake it.

  • I like stale angelfood cake too. I think it's a texture thing. Also my mom always eats stale peeps and cake so it's probably her fault

  • I'm late to this, but I have so many weird eating habits I have to share.Garlic salt is added to almost everything.  If not garlic salt, then sea salt, preferably from the McCormick grinder thing.Coller Ranch Doritos get put on tuna salad sandwiches.  I will only eat tuna salad that I make.  With mayo, good seasons italian dressing and relish mixed in.I used to dip everything, burger and fries, in McDonalds sweet n sour sauce.I also eat things in corcles, leaving the middle for last, its the best part.I hate super cold drinks, so I leave my soda on the couner.  I love it room temp.Pickles get put on every type of sandwich, except peanut butter and jelly.Syrup is poured over everything at breakfast.  Pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, toast.  Ketchup on the side to dip.French fries get dipped in lots of different stuff.  All kinds of salad dressing, sauces, even mayo.Ketchup is put on mac n cheese, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, burgers.  I also like to dip, but it must be ON the burger.sandwich too.I have been known to eat entire jars of pickle chips and gerkins.  I freaking love pickles.Eating butter and sugar is NOT weird.  Whenever I make cookies, I steal a couple spoonfuls after i cream the butter and sugar together.I also like BBQ sauce on everything.Bleu cheese dressing is another go to for dipping everything
  • I dunk my Chips Ahoy in orange juice instead of milk.  I think it's because when I was little I had a milk allergy but still wanted to dunk my cookies in my drink - just so happens that was OJ.  Then I was hooked.

  • I don't like my food to touch and I like to eat different foods in different mouthfuls. There are exceptions but generally not.I also eat a Mars bar by eatting the chocolate off the top first, licking out the caramel , eating the chocolate off the sides and then eatting to nougat. All chocolate bars follow this. No weird food, just weird ways of eating...
  • I'm also very late to this, but I have quite a few weird habits.I will always take raw potatoes over cooked.  I think most cooked potatoes are gross, except tater tots and french fries, but only if they are crunchy.  If they are soggy I won't eat them.  Anytime I go to my parents house, I steal a potato, cut it up and put salt on it.  My mom and all her siblings do this, and it was passed down to all my cousins.I prefer bbq sauce to ketchup for everything. Arby's sauce trumps everything. Tomatoes are disgusting, but I'll eat any sauce made with them. I won't eat the chunks in salsa--I just dip in my chip and let it soak up the juice. I used to love chip sandwiches when I was little--nothing but bread and chips.  Even now I need something crunchy like carrots or chips to go with any sandwich, though i just eat them on the side now. I put salt on my watermelon. So so good. Another thing passed on from my mom. I can't eat plain potato chips without ketchup. When we were younger, my siblings and I used to mix fountain pop.  The best mix was mountain dew, sierra mist, and whatever Hi-C flavor they had, or orange.  I still get it sometimes when I get fast food. I will not eat cooked fruit, except deep fried bananas (deep fried banana split is the best dessert ever) so I will not eat any pies, or anything with any kind of fruit filling. If I have mashed potatoes and corn, I have to mix them together.  If there is no gravy, I have to add milk and butter to the potatoes or I won't eat them. I eat pickles and green olives straight from the jar.  Certain nights (like tonight) I'll grab a jar and a fork and just eat them plain until I decide I've had enough. That's all I can think of right now.  I'm sure there are more.

  • I will peel and eat a raw potato like it's an apple :D I also love putting baked beans or pork 'n beans on my hamburgers. I also will only eat chili hot dogs w/out the hot dog - mmm chili on a bun, very tasty :D
  • I have to second the scraping forks with teeth and on plates. I had to stop having meals out with a friend because of it, I just can't stand it
  • I can't eat sandwiches unless I've made them or they've been made in front of me fresh, they go soggy and it makes me physically gag to try and eat them.I don't eat fish but I can eat fish cakes (unless they are salmon in which case instant vomiting follows), I can also eat battered cod and battered squid.  I can eat cold tinned tuna but if it is heated up (i.e. in a toastie or on a jacket potato) it makes me violently sick. There are loads more that I can't remember but I am a pretty weird eater, we get around it by going to 'safe' restaurants or inviting people over to ours for dinner and I cook! There's a programme in the UK called "freaky eaters" with people who have serious food phobias, I love watching it because it makes me feel more normal!  One woman cried when they showed her vegetables!Oh my friend has a phobia of Melon! To the extent that in the summer she has to bypass the fruit and veg aisle in the supermarket and get her son to go and fetch all the veg so she doesn't have to walk past the melons!
