Registry questions...

So ladies! The weddings are coming up so quickly and FI and I are starting our registries tomorrow! I can't wait but I have next to no idea what we are doing! So what are/were your registry must haves?

Thanks!

Re: Registry questions...

  • If you look up the places you want to register at they usually have a checklist of stuff to register for. Also I know TK has a checklist. Those will help you a lot.

We registered at BB&B and Target but I really don't consider Target because it is so small. My favorite things or must haves were a new coffee pot and knife set. And then little things like utensils to cook with and also pots and pans. My absolute most favorite was servingware just because I LOVE to entertain and have people over. So I'm always looking for trays and platters.
  • There is a good checklist here: http://www.russellandhazel.com/content/wedding-templates (items 34-39)

We also registered at Target and Bed, Bath, and Beyond.  We are hoping to get upgraded versions of a lot of our small appliances.  Although we already live together, we pretty much have the crappy college version of everything, and none of it really matches.  We also registered for a bunch of new towels, a nice set of sheets, and a new comforter (again, this is really old).
  • I'm just grateful to know I'm not the only one who hasn't started their registry :)
  • Someone told me to wait to register until just a few months before the wedding. We didn't do an engagement party so it worked out for us :)
  • We are registered at BB&B and Macy's. We will also be doing a small Pampered Chef registry. Have fun! It can be a little overwhelming, especially if you are starting from scratch like my FI and I but the checklists that they give you are very helpful.

  • We registered at Macy's and Crate & Barrel. We wanted a nice set of cookwear (Emril stainless), a Kerig, new quality knives, additional plates and serving pieces. Plus, added new towels (we had a lot of crappy ones). Think of the things you need (towels, plates, etc) and the things you want or maybe upgrade. When you register, you will get a list of things most people register for. We also added other non-essential things like frames and home accessories.
  • We registered at Kohl's, BBB, and Pampered Chef. Definitely look at the checklists above, they give you an idea of where to start. Include things that you don't have and upgrades for the old things you do!
My must have (which I have wanted for years) is a Kitchen Aid mixer. I love to bake and can't wait to not have to use my hand mixer.
  • We are going to register this weekend as well :)
We plan on Bed Bath and Beyond as the main and then either- Kohl's, Macy's or Target :)
  • we're registering this weekend too :)  well, i'm registering with my mom (FI lives far away)

we're registering at BB&B and i want to register for a bicycle somehow, but i haven't looked into how to do that... it would be awesome to register at REI.

we have pretty much everything we need, so we're registering for fun stuff :)
  • Most of our stuff is at BB&B, but we registered at Macy's too since my aunts insisted.  As to what you should put on your registry, think about things you use on a daily basis that might need upgrading, things you don't have but want, etc.  I know for my FI & I, we've never lived together so we barely have ANYTHING.  We decided to register for practical stuff first (i.e. towels, everyday dishes, silverware, etc).  Then, if most of our practical things get bought, we'll start adding some fun stuff (such as the beautiful kitchenaid mixer I'm absolutely drooling over).
