Integrating florist with cake place?

Hi all - My wedding has sort of a nature theme, tree branches, etc, and I'd really like my cake to have a tree branch-design/leaves, etc on it.  I know I can have the baker make something like this, but my florist said he could do something really cool for the cake.  Question is, how do I get them to coordinate?  I don't want to just say, "make a plain white cake and leave it to the florist to decorate," but I'm not sure how to go about that...

Most bakers will know what you mean.  Do you have an inspiration picture?  If you mean something like the one on this blog:http://tinyurl.com/luepm7 most bakers will have seen it before.

My florist decorated my cake. The baker did white with navy ribbon and then the florist bought the flowers and they cooridinated on the time for set up and the florist gave my baker the flowers and the baker decorated. However my florist said she would do it if need be. Most bakers and florist can decorate the cake. It happens a lot.
