Donation/Gift for Priest

Does anyone have any recommendations for how much money to give a priest who is just doing our rehearsal and ceremony - no counseling and/or preCana instruction. He is not a priest at the Cathedral where we are getting married but is a friend of the family. He doesn't do a lot of weddings so I don't know who to ask. Please help!

They are doing your wedding at no cost. Only fee is your church (that is if they have one) most priests are doing your wedding on thier own time. You give them what you think they were worth. We are giving our priest $150 plus hes invited to the reheasal dinner and reception. HTH

We didn't 'tip' our priest.  The priest is performing a sacrament. Catholic sacraments aren't for profit.  I felt that since we paid a (rather large) fee for the church to cover operating expenses it wasn't required.  Churches used to (and some still do) provide the sacrament for free and people would 'tip' the priest.  It is entirely up to you but there is no set cost and you should not feel pressured to do so.
