For those who are following this tradition, where did you purchase the broom? How did you or will you decorate it?

I haven't decided since I'm not sure who will officiate our cerremony... if we have a white preacher, I think it'll be kinda-darn-akward having him explain the origin of the tradition...Sorry, I couldn't be of more help. But thanks for posting this because, if we can get the pastor we want (he's actually African) then I'll need to know where to start lookin.

girl, Michaels sells those brooms for $1.99. Get some silk flowers and ribbon abd hook it up. I have purchased the stuff for mine but have not put i together yet.. knottie bigshow just posted her DIY stuff n here yesterday and she did a broom. Check out the post and her bio/

I got my broom from Dollar Tree. I haven't decorated yet though, but i will wrap the handle in fabric and maybe add some gemstones.

Thanks brobin01 for the shot out! I also got my brooms from the dollar tree. I got two and combined them because they are kind of thin. But I think it came out just right.

PIBI bought one on ebay for 5 bucks and decorated it with leftovers from my cake box and boutonnieres. ivory fabric, cotton batting (to soften the handle), ribbon and feathers.
