Help! Advice needed, dress woes.

Hey girls. I just had my dress out and was trying it on, and I have to admit, I wasn't loving it. It just didnt seem to fit right, and I am nervous about it now. I bought my dress in March of LAST year and I loved it, but now I'm not too sure. Its not even that I have been looking around at other dresses and have fallen in love with those, its just that I'm not thrilled with how it looked. It hasn't been altered yet, and I have lost 10 pounds since purchase, but haven't loss as much as I would like to. Have any of you come across this problem? Should I wait it out till my first fitting and see what happens? Or is this just a dress version of "cold feet"?

I would wait till you have your fitting. The dress always looks better when it's made to fit you! Just remember you bought it for a reason. Give it another chance. I think once you go for your fitting, try it on, and see it with your veil, you'll realize just how beautiful it is!

I agree w/ pp.  Wait until your fitting.  Maybe seeing it when it fits better and having an idea of how everything will pull together will change your mind.  I think its completely normal to doubt such a big decision, so give it time.  I'm sure that the dress is gorgeous and you make it even more so!

I admit, I had second thoughts about my dress. Then when it actually came in and I put it all together, I started crying because I loved it so much...I agree with pp's....wait until you get it altered.

Thanks ladies. I guess I'm just nervous and stressed about everything at the moment. Thanks for the advice.

I was thinking about your post again and at least for myself as it gets closer to my wedding, the less those little things bring me stress. Granted, you have to like your dress, but as it gets closer, I'm sure you'll get to a point where you just want the day to come & marry your best friend! You'll look beautiful with your dress, veil, makeup, hair, jewelry... when it all comes together. The dress is such a small detail of the whole day! :) Hope that helps.

Definitely wait until your final fitting. When my dress came in, I was super excited....and then I actually went to try it on.  BIG let down.  I was actually upset enough that I went to my consultant almost crying.Once the dress was fully altered though (there was a snafu in the middle, so definitely wait until it's completely altered), and once it was steamed (makes a HUGE difference, or at least it did with mine), I was in love again. You're perfectly normal. ;)
