I'm going to be super busy for the next 2 weeks. 5 tests and a PA school interview. I should have changed the date but by the time I actually thought about it, I had already bought my plane ticket..

Jay and I visited UT Southwestern this weekend (he interviewed)We were really disappointed and found out the program has a reputation for being "malignant"--(like cancer, the stress and problems of the program spread to every part of your life)It of course depends on where he gets in, but I'm bummed that if he has options, we will probably end up somewhere else. I really wanted to stay in Dallas, and I have a job offer with a company I love. Both of us agreed though--it probably isn't the best place to try and start a marriage.

Marissa, i'm sorry the interview was rough. Two of my college friends just finished up there and were happy. One of them was also a newlywed. If you're interested in some feedback, let me know. I'm sure they'd be happy to help out.

Emi--thanks!The actual interview wasn't rough--we were just a little disappointed by what we saw and later heard. A lot of really tired, overwhelmed looking students who all gave the same half-hearted answer to "Do you like it here?"I would actually love some feedback, especially from someone who did it as a newlywed.email: mcassidy88 AT hotmail DOT com

Loveypants:All of my girls and I were having such a great time until the end of the night when the limo driver got lost several times, almost cut off my friends head by rolling the window up on her head, and there was no AC! and then tried to charge us for an extra hour even though he got us lost! I have never had a limo drive me around but I don't think he should have charged us extra for something that was out of our control! They argued for half an hour and finally his manager came at 4am to stonebriar to talk to us and he gave in and took what was on the contract! I need to find out the limo service so everyone on here stays away!

Marissa - that's so weird. I had a dream the other night that I found out I was pregnant, and I was freaking out. I kept figuring out in my head how long before the wedding the baby would be born. Weird!

One of the student assistants at work had the swine flu last week. It seems like there's a lot of people on campus with it.

I am trying to grow my hair out... not sure if I'm going to make it. It's already annoying.

I'm at that point of looking at the budget and screaming because of the costs of things :(   We have no money and FI wants a rehearsal dinner.

I know I am being totally random, but just posting things as I think of them or as they happen...   I was asked to be a BM in a wedding. I just IM'd her the same thing I posted above.. about growing my hair out and that I wasn't sure if I was going to make it.. Her response:you have from now till June 5thotherwise you getting weave She put a laughing smiley face after it, so I'm sure she is joking, but... really? why even say that??

lol...i think? One of my BM has short hair like yours Nae and I couldn't imagine her going any other way...I even told her to fauxhak it like she does sometimes hahaha I think it's cute and totally her and that's the look I am going for...I want my BM to be up there as themselves not as clones. Another one of my reasons to let them choose their own dresses.

I do not care about my MOH/BM's hair, nails, makeup or shoes.  I want them to do whatever makes them feel beautiful.

Seriously, why on earth would you want a row of identical girls up there? That would be creepy.

The dictated hairstyles thing is bad.My girls wore completely different dresses to flatter their figures. Their hair was completely different as well. I thought they looked great, and they felt great. That should be enough.
  • edited December 2011
ok.. I guess she is joking. I'm going to just have to call her after work because I hate not being able to read people via IM."I am letting everyone wear their hair how they want because we have different lengthsI will let you all have some orginal since I am picking out dresses"

I let my MOH pick out all her stuff.  I just wanted her wearing a red dress.  Ditto, almoyo.  Who said cookie cutter was the best way to go?

I drank too much on Saturday night and my poor sister in laws and two brothers had to take care of me and Justin even came to check on me at 3:30 AM because I guess I called him all mad and he could tell I was not myself. I don't really drink so I think the fact that they secretly spiked the punch at the shower (before the party) and then they just kept giving me more shots made it really bad. I'm so embarrased! My maid of honor got really mad at me for being so drunk and so now, for the second time in two weeks, is not speaking to me. (the first time was over a fantasy football trade). I guess the point about people's true colors comming out during weddings is very true!

Bananna--Don't worry--it wasn't you in my dream :) Nae--I like your hairLindsey--Secretly spiking the punch would make me really really mad

That was so not cool, Lindsay.  I would be pretty ticked as well.   How did your shower end up going?
  • edited December 2011
The shower went well considering it was really rainy. I figured no one would come since the weather was so bad. Out of about 40 invited guests, I had 10 come. We got mostly kitchen stuff again. I guess the economy just keeps people from going to showers and stuff that are about gifts.
