Do your IRL friends know...

Re: Do your IRL friends know...

• My friends IRL know that I get ideas from a wedding message board but they don't know the extent of it.  The only one who does know is my sister and that's because she is very immersed in another forum herself.  She gets it.
• Thanks E...where was it?  I will search now.

• Scott knows. My best friend knows. That's about it.Well, now my parents know. It was hard to explain Colleen to them without letting out the joey bag of donuts. They'd think I was nuts.

• "I have an irrational fear (perhaps no so irrational) that a RL friend is a lurker or something. " Me too. I hold back on venting about people I know JUSSSST in case.
• No, they wouldn't get it. Noodle doesn't even get it. He gets mad that I come home and go on the computer.

• Most of my IRL friends started off as internet friends (triathlon board) and the need for training partners made meeting appropriate. I think I can count on my fingers the number of friends I have that I didn't meet via the internet first. Hell, it's how I met FI, too (though that WAS through a dating site.)
• No, they wouldn't understand.  FI knows and complains about my knotting habit incessantly.A few people at work know because they see me posting, but it's a joke as far as they're concerned.I too am afraid of lurkers.  You "strangers" know a lot more about me than a lot of people.  I've shared some personal info, but would die if knew IRL was looking at my posts. The weird thing, is that if I met any of you in person, I wouldn't care.  It's just the IRL people I care about.
• Here-  You @mocha-    I think he loves you now. @you- You tell Mr Sasha that it is OVER!!111!!! I want my Journey CDs back.
• I think most know that I post on a wedding forum, but they probably don't know how much.  It just comes up in passing, or if there's a funny story I see here that I tell them.
• No, none of them know. I vaguely mentioned it to a friend of mine when I met sucrets, because I was at her house when she came through my town, so I had to tell her what I was up to.She looked at me like I was nuts and asked if I wanted her to come with so I didn't get kidnapped and killed ;)

• Hahaha!!  How did I miss that?  He is so fickle!  Although he is also now watching tennis and has been ALL day, so maybe he can be lured back.I just told him what you said and he said if it was Journey CD's it would have been over a long time ago.  He wants panties!  Now he is upstairs yelling PANTIES!  I think he has Tourette's.

• My cousin IS actually posting on TK - I don't think shes ventured over here unless she's lurking. I've seen her post on her local board and the honeymoon board, though. She'd recognize my sig pic - she knows my doggie (and, of course, my name). And, she's early 20s, so she's all about online.

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
• My husband knows, and my sister sort of knows a little since the FB integration, but I have vented about my MIL and best friend at length here, so I want them both to stay away, so I don't tell anybody else.
• Me too. I hold back on venting about people I know JUSSSST in case. So do I. There is actually a particular wedding related thing right now with someone I know and it makes my head want to explode, but I'm afraid she might read it so I don't post about it.

• OMG no! I can't constantlybitch about weddings and brides and traditions and then say I'm a message board member on The Knot! You guys would totally ruin my badazz street cred!
• I just told him what you said and he said if it was Journey CD's it would have been over a long time ago. He wants panties! Now he is upstairs yelling PANTIES! I think he has Tourette's.  Haha!  I needed to make him give back(insert lame 80's ballad group CDs) so I picked Journey.  You let him know, this chick has done too many LDWs in Vegas to be into Journey.  I have a reputation to maintain in EDM, ya know.
• Mine definitely don't know, or at least not the extent of it.  I tried explaining it when I discovered that lpstl bought one of the houses we'd been looking at, but they didn't get it. They were all "wait so you know her? have you guys like gone house stuff shopping together? Wait you don't know her? You don't even know her last name? wtf?"  It's a mess, so I stopped talking about it.  Except DH definitely knows.

• Uh oh...I'm lost again, as usual.  LDW?  EDM?
BabyFruit Ticker
• LDW- Labor Day Weekend aka a huge weekend for EDM- Electronic Dance Music.  The biggest weekend in Vegas for DJs, they fly from all over the world for it.  This year, the biggest events were at Wet Republic, surprisingly.
• Aaaahhh....I kinda figured out the EDM, but lost on LDW.  Yes...Wet Republic was huge this year.  I used to do the LDW in Miami at Warsaw and other places I can barely remember.  My friends would always catch the last flight to NY from Detroit and go to Sound Factory all night and morning.  I am pretty ignorant of who does what, but I like it.  I was friends with an old school techno guy...Derrick May.  Met when I was 18, and used to go to all the raves at his Detroit loft.  I talked to him a couple years ago and he had bought a house in Mykonos.  I need to rekindle that friendship!!

• FI knows... no one else realizes how much time I now spend on the The Knot.  I try to limit my knotting to lunchtime at work and I actually find myself making sure to pack a lunch so I will have the full hour at my desk to catch up on P&E happenings since I went ot bed hte night before... I think I have a problem.
• We could have passed each other on the way to the bathroom!  Now that we are on the same page, tell him I want the panties back too.
• But what if he is wearing them?
BabyFruit Ticker
• No, I really don't have any friends here.  I'm slowly making friends irl here, but we're not close enough for them to know.I definitely talk to ppl on here more frequently than some of my friends from home.  Oh, and knotties make more comments on my fb most of the time.

• If they were anything less than Agent Provacateur, he can keep them.  But I know he is the kind of slut to take my good panties.
• Oh, and knotties make more comments on my fb most of the time.Ditto this. Y'all have some of the funniest comments. My IRL friends are waaay less witty.

• Of course he did...he only wears the best.  He is such a panty snob.  He is so over my nude and black Hanky Pankys.  He keeps asking me to buy sexier panties, so I should have known this is all my fault.

• You keep him away from La Perla!
