  • Well, hello there!
  • Hi Hayla! Tell us about yourself. When is your wedding? Where are you in the planning process? What made you come out of lurkdom? What have you learned from lurking so far?

I'm from England, my wedding is 26th Nov 2011.    I decided to stop lurking because there comes a point when you just feel like a spy/stalker

oh, and this is what i've learnt
-people can't fingure out how to plan their own weddings without asking the whole world's opinion

    - there are such things as sister wives

-English people are rude, greedy tightarses as we allow cash bars, can have HM gift lists(registries) and let people to ask for money and/or put gift lists inside invitations.

  • Hayla, I like you already because you said "arses." One of my favorite words. :)

Since Meg isn't here, I have to ask on her behalf: Who are your favorite and non-favorite posters here? Favorite troll/AE so far?

  • Why does it always come to a screeching halt when we bring out those big guns, Beatles? gah!
  • I don't know Meg, but that's a great observation. Maybe it's too much pressure for someone already nervous about debuting to draw those lines already? Most people just default to saying they love whoever is posting in the thread, though if I'm named I choose to believe it's because I'm actually awesome. ;) I'm more interested in who they wish would go away!

  • Ha, true! Totes magotes. Hayla, I'm still waiting to hear your burn list. We're not mad at ya, you should come back! :)

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. • You know, now that I think of it we don't even do our own burn lists here. Just flames of crazy trolls and whatnot as they come up. I'm thinking some regular version of FFF might be in order?

Yes! I liked reading the thread last week that was kind of an FFF. Do we have enough regular posters for this? It feels like it is either crazy or one time drop ins.
  • edited June 2010
Hmm, I wonder too... several regs here are E regs too, and then the other regs I can remember from this board are all cool people for the most part who I wouldn't want to flame. Though I don't see anything wrong in flaming the crazy drop-ins too. AND, even well-liked regs are guilty of saying stupid things. I know I've had my fair share.

  • No, not at all. And now that I finally read FFF on E this week we can't possibly have less material than that, can we?
  • I think you're on to something here, Meg. ;)

  • I should be a phone sex operator.

  • I have a feeling you could make some serious money there, Cew.
  • I'd pay for that.

Haha, *like*. Funny story Hayla, just the other night some crazy on another board thought my sig quote from horse-girl was something I wrote about myself, and she sent me a PM telling me how lame I was for my country club and budget bragging. She's definitely on the burn list too.

  • Well aren't you sweet. ;) I wish.

I think it will be interesting having you on the board for etiquette arguments about the things you mentioned that are different in GB. I didn't realize that cash bars, etc. were the norm there. You guys must think we're pretty uptight!

In my ignorance i thought everything would be done the same,  i'm surprised there are so many differences.  I'm glad i'm getting married before it catches on over here though, british people are also dirty drunks, open bar= humongous budget.
