just tried on dresses for the first time!!!!

I just got back from Bridal and Formal. This was my first time trying on bridal gowns. I had a great experience there! I am a plus size bride so I was worried about how the experience would be. I had a very friendly and knowledgeable consultant who really listened to me and gave her opinion when I asked for it. I was there for 2 hours and even stayed 10 minutes past closing, yet everyone was very friendly and never rushed or pressured me. I did not buy a dress tonight but I did find two that I will likely definitely go back to look at. I just need to sleep on it!

    just an FYI my dress took 6 months to get in and i purchased from B&F...did they say you were cutting it close??

    They did say I was cutting it close, but they didn't seem to be panicked about it. There was a bride there whose wedding was a month earlier than mine. I would assume they wouldn't let me order a dress that couldn't come in before my wedding. We'll see!

    Be very careful with B&F I know several people who have had problems with them including myself. But if you love the dress then I am happy for you!

    Carrie, It took my dress a good 6 months (maybe a little over) to come in from Bridal and Formal. You will also need time for fittings and any alterations you may have done. Just be careful and if you do order there, stay on top of them, and check the status every month or so!

    So, after having a great experience with Bridal and Formal last Monday, I did want to check out a few other things. I visited David's Bridal on Wednesday and was back at Bridal and Formal today. I got my dress!!! It was one that I picked up at the last minute as an after thought. My consultant, mother, and the store manager unanimously loved it over all the others. It was definitely my favorite as well. Although I went in with my heart set on a Maggie Sottero or Mori Lee, I ended up with a Sofia Tolli and I LOVE IT! I told them I was more than worried about getting my dress in time. They assured me that with this designer it would not be a problem. One of the managers gave me his card and said for me to call him in a couple months and he would personally call and and check on the dress. So, my fingers are crossed but I am thrilled to have this major decision behind me!
