Places to take pictures in Providence, RI?

Hi, I'm getting married May 29'th, 2010. Keep in mind that this is the same weekend that Brown graduates and there will also be a water fire the night of my wedding. Needless to say, the city is going to be very busy. I am looking for a nice place in the city to take both indoor and outdoor pictures? I am getting married at the Cathedral of Saint Peter and Paul on Fenner St and my reception is at the new Renaissance Hotel in Providence. I was hoping to find a spot centrally located to both of these places so we don't have to drive to far in between the church and the reception. The more options the better so I can compare the scenery and pricing. My sister took pictures at the State House so I kind of wanted something different. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated?? Thanks!!

My suggestion would be Roger Williams Park.  It will be a beautiful time to take pictures with many flowering trees, the japenese gardens, the temple, overlook spot behind the Casino, etc.  You can also go inside at the Botanical Gardens and the Carousel.

The Lippett House has indoor and outdoor photo spots - HTH!

Both great ideas! I will have to look into both of those places. They are both really close which is great! Thanks so much for your feedback!

Hi lhannouch,i, unfortunately, don't have any suggestions for you, but was wondering if it would be rude to ask how much you're paying to have your reception at the renaissance?  my fi and i really like it there, but the price demaris quoted us is out of our price range...we were hoping to talk them down a bit.  any info you can give me is appreciated! thanks :)

Hello, We negotiated quite a bit with them! With the economy the way it is you should definitely try to negotiate pricing with them. It can never hurt!! What month are you thinking of getting married?

Hi :) My wedding was 2 weeks ago (Labor Day weekend) and there was waterfires that night but it wasn't crowded in waterplace park at all. We had free reign to take whatever pictures we wanted (And we did quite a few!) We also took them on the walkway heading to the state house and some by the garden on the state house lawns & some on the state house steps. People said it would be crowded and we shouldn't go there but we did and it was perfect! Here are some of the shots on my photog's blog: http://zenobia-studios.com/blog/archives/1164
