  LOL.... all I'm going to say is "WOW". It's like they are charging cover for thier wedding. LOL I would think twice about going.

  So, are you saying I should remove that line from my invites...cause ours says the exact same thing?!?!  LMBO, that is CRAZY...how about nobody show up since there is a cover charge and all.  WTH are people thinking?  Or are they even thinking?

  WOW! Geez and I thought the invite I got with the registry list was tacky. I can't imgaine having the audascity to actually include that in an invite! A cover charge really? So what happens if you show up without the money do they turn you away? Not only would I not go but I would return it with 50 cents and say that's what I think of you and your wedding.

  ditto on the cover charge thing. I just thought it was common knowledge by now. Is your coworker going? I'm curious to see how many actually show up. LOL how do you give a minimum on a donation??

  a lunchable! Yeah instead of having a cash bar they are having a cash dinner. I bet she will feel real bad when the RSVPs start rolling in with a big X on we will be unable to attend.

  Lord, help them. I WISH I would get an invite like that.LOL Then the audacity to do it in a recession! If you can't afford the wedding you want, you better scale down, have cake and punch or something instead of burdening your guests who are already bringing gifts.

  I can understand just wanting to receive only money or giftcards but you can't tell people a minmum amount. And to some people $50 is alot of money. They sound very inconsiderate and it's just kinda tacky.

  That is just ridiculous!  First off it's a no no to ask for cash donations on the invite but to actually request a minimum.  Are they serious?  That's one of those wedding I would seriously have to think twice about attending.  And even if I did go just to be spiteful I wouildn't give them any money.  Ridiculous.

  The enclosed for the cash donations, I don;t think is bad. Many ppl don't need/want gifts and I don't see what's the difference in listing your registry then asking for a donation, money gets spent either way. But to put an amount is outrageously crossing the line. That is so rude. And call me cheap but as a guest to a wedding who is not family $50 is a lot money.

  She couldn't be a member of this board..Oh my gosh!!! This is insane.. Crazy, this is the 2nd time I have heard someone doing this.. I wonder did she let anyone read the invite before she had them printed up? Please post the invite I want to how a invite asking for money looks...

  Oh HAAAAAAYLE naw!nononononono...NOT cool! I don't care what people say, it's never okay to put any sort of request for gifts on the invite. I'm of the camp that thinks while many antiquated etiquette rules are stupid, this is one that is here to stay. If people ask and you just want cash, then do that. Don't register and word will get out. Never put it on the invite. That's just sad.Can she send a decline card with a dollar? Or show up with some McDonald's or a bucket of chicken?

  stop it I say!!!!...this is too funny to me...O.M.G. no they didnt ask for cash and then give a minimum per couple...this is foolwagditty material all the way around...I agree, if you cannot afford the wedding of your dreams please work within your means, gesh give me a break!! dst10 -- I gonna need for you to get us a scanned copy of this invitation because I gotta see this in black & white so that I can laugh some more!
