*Disclaimer: This post might come off that I am an ungrateful snot, but I don't mean it like that at all. Ok, so today I got a gift in the mail from my uncle. It was a pair of candlesticks and a vase. The invoice was accidentally in the bottom of the box and they each cost $195!!!! (they are Waterford crystal). My first reaction was what am I going to do with a $200 vase and that I wish he would have just wrote me a check instead. I am going at this in a practical way... we are not only getting married, but we are closing on out first house in a few weeks and we need furniture, bedding, paint etc. THAT is what we need, not fancy crystal. Even though it is very pretty (we would just never use it) FI wants to sell it on Ebay and put the money towards new things for the house. My mom said I am being a snot and that I need to keep it since it will last forever. Opinions?
