We want to honeymoon there also and my co worker went last year and my friend went this year. If you want seclusion pick Kaui and the Big Island. Maui and Oahu have the night life and out door activities. Hope that helps a little

I plan on doing a Hawaii honeymoon too.  My aunt just did Maui (and had previously done the Big Island for a family trip) and said Maui was mostly couples and was better for a honeymoon... They were there for a week and she said it was perfect... HTH even though its not much!

I've been to Hawaii!  It depends on what you like to do for activities...All the islands are romantic, but the Big Island is the least expensive, but it is still beautiful.  The other islands have more night life and are really pretty too though.  I stayed on the Big Island.  We went on the volcano tours, pet the dolphins, went to the luaus, dinner cruises on the ocean, etc.  The Hilton hotel was the biggest hotel and it is amazing!!! it had so many restaraunts in it, a mall, a museum, and a dolphin pool...it even has a little train to take you around the entire hotel, bc that's just how big it was.  the Waikoloa (sp?) resort (owned by Marriott) is where I stayed.  It too was really pretty and it was located on the beach, but it was not nearly as big as the Hilton.  I think it was near Kona on the Big Island.  I had a blast!

We went to Oahu 2 years ago. You've got the option to hang in Waikiki which I found to be touristy but fun or you can rent a car (which we did) and drive around the island. We found some amazing secluded beaches near the North Shore.  The island is not that big so driving around the perimeter of the island didn't take long at all. Next time we go I think we'll go to the Big Island for touristy things then head  to Kauai. Honestly you can't go wrong with your decision. We chose Oahu because it was the most affordable at the time. Good luck!
