Motivation

Re: Motivation

• PS- I had that app, and it was great.  But, as soon as I started eating bad, I was like "I just won't record this... ".  Haha, so lame and totally useless.  Like, what am I thinking?  If I don't record it, it doesn't count?

• I just read the "Thinner" section of your bio, Cacoffer.  I admire the changes that you were able to make in your lifestyle and hop that I can do that same thing.  I'm very close in weight to what your start weight was and I, too, would love to be in "onederland" - lol.
• I would strongly suggest learning more about what youre eating and what your body needs to lose weight. Knowing how many calories, carbs, proteins and fats your body needs in a day will help to keep you on track if you are writing it all down and being truthful about the portions. Kyou know how mad you are at yourself for eating mc donalds today, and you know what its doing to your body. Look up how much fat was in it, then look at how much you need for the day. If thats not enough to stop you from eating it, i dunno what will!
• Does your gym have complimentary one-time personal training sessions or discounts for first-timers?  Maybe going and working out with a trainer a few times might show you some new activities to do and get you psyched to get started.
• Remind yourself that you will hardly ever regret GOING to the gym, but you WILL regret not going. Truer words have never been spoken.  Now if I could just get motivated too.
• I lost ALL motivation after my wedding, so I had to revamp my exercise routine.  The gym was starting to get to me, so now I take Core Fusion classes (kind of like yoga, pilates, and weight lifting mixed together) and go for walks near my house.   I've also challenged myself to eating a salad for lunch everyday for the next month, so we'll see what happens!

• Salad at lunch every day for a month would make me cry.  Seriously.  I hate salad (except for the kind with bacon and blue cheese and deliciousness all over it).

• Hahahah, been there, done that.  I had some nuts last night that came from a poorly labeled package, and I couldn't find them in the LoseIt database, so I almost left them off.  But then I was like, no, must dummy in something!  Ended up googling for nutrition facts on unsalted cashews.

• Thanks TiDa!  You can do it!
• Kiki, I'm really lucky and have an awesome salad bar at work.  I allow myself a little cheese and a few bacon bits.  I guess that's kind of cheating....

• Hello my sister from another mister.  I just joined a gym that offers a craptastic ton of group classes all for free.  I'm definately someone who needs to work out in a group or with a trainer, because I have no idea what the hell I'm doing most of the time. It's a little pricey though ($60 for dual membership for Noodle and me). They offer the kinds of classes I like (dance and strength and spin and kickboxing) and other stuff, so I don't get bored doing the same damn thing every day.  Plus, since it's a chain gym there are about 10 other gyms in the metro area and beyond I can go to as well.  I know myself, I love having different options and different classes I can do.  I'm still working on the food issue.

• We need a P&E support group or something. And yeah, the Getting in Shape board is teh suck.

• We had a P&E support group.  It fizzled horribly after a few weeks.  I'm sad.

• GIS isnt that bad, once you wade through the thousands of accountability threads and newb intros. Theres smart ladies over there.
• Good luck.  I post on my facebook page about how I've stayed active.  I have a good friend I try to hike with about once a week and she always posts about the stuff she does in between too and we encourage each other via facebook and comments and "like" each others' posts.  It's like having a buddy without having to mesh our schedules enough to meet up all the time.  I signed up to do a 3-day 60 mile breast cancer walk with her next summer, a month and a half before the wedding (as if I needed more motivation). Some of my other friends probably couldn't care less about my work-outs but I keep putting it out there.Good Luck!
• Make deals with yourself, if you workout 4 days a week, buy some sexy new shoes Oooh! I like that.
