Can I wear white...

to my FI's brother's rehearsal dinner? But its not actually a rehearsal dinner because there is no rehearsal and they are still using that terminology eventhough it is not "correct." Long story short, I have another dress that I was going to wear but I'm really not loving it. The pattern on the other dress makes my man-ish figure look even more square. I know I shouldn't wear white on the wedding day, obviously, but what about a welcome/rehearsal dinner or the post wedding brunch?Heres some pics to give you guys an idea of what I'm thinking of wearing.[IMG]http://i25.tinypic.com/2sb04z9.jpg[/IMG][IMG]http://i26.tinypic.com/2h2mg76.jpg[/IMG]

    I wouldn't. The bride is probably wearing a short white dress to the RD, and you wouldn't want to show up in a short white dress too.

    I can't see the pics but if it's solid white or mostly white, I'd avoid it.  The bride may or may not care, but I'd probably give you a bit of a side-eye.

    I want to say that if someone wore white to my rehearsal dinner I wouldn't care....but I'm pretty sure once I saw someone wearing white...I wouldn't be too happy.

    She is wearing a floor length brown dress and its a bbq style dinner, but in a nice restaurant. I just can't decide if this outfit would be totally in appropriate.

    You can't wear it because that outfit does not work, at all.  You have several options- dress and heels with a fitted cardigan, heels and blazer with a different dress, a completely different outfit.

    I hate to admit I'm THAT person, but I'd probably think it was weird if I saw someone other than the bride wearing a white. It's not a rule or anything, but generally, if you have to ask, you probably already know how your circle would take it...

    It is the cut of the cardigan, it looks boxy like a blazer, that is what I thought it was.

    Thanks for the advice ladies, this wedding is just so non-traditional I didn't know how normal people would view this. I actually wear blazers with a dress for work all the time, especially if they are bare shouldered. I'm just not a very girly girl and am having a hard time finding something appropriate that I haven't worn before.

    If you're concerned that it may be inappropriate, don't wear white. You'll feel uncomfortable all night. I wore a winter white suit to my RD, so in my experience the bride did wear white.

    I agree, the outfit doesn't look right. If you were a cardigan over the top it probably won't matter if you wear white and it sounds like you don't think the bride will care...but then again, you are asking so...I think a brighter colored, lighter weight cardigan would look better with the white dress

    I wouldn't worry about finding something you haven't worn before.  Especially when it's only the rehearsal not the wedding.  Just wear something you like that is appropriate to the setting/occasion.
