Wedding License question

If I am getting married November 8th, when should I apply for my license. I know it is only valid for 30 days or something but I heard it takes a couple weeks to get. I didn't know when you ladies had applied/intended to apply.TIA!

I was told by my county that it takes about 3 business days. Have you tried calling the county you need to get yours in? maybe it depends on the county

Thought I would ask before I called to save myself being on hold for 4239849 min like I always am when I call places like that =). I am not sure about the weeks thing it's what i was told so I am hoping it's not true, I hope it is a couple business days!

http://www.state.nj.us/health/vital/marriage_apply.shtmlOnce you get it, it is good for 30 days.  We went to our township building, filled out the application and then I went back 3 days later and picked up the license.

It does depend on the township I live in Monroe twp and the process took 15 minutes to fill out and pay (if cash exact amount) then I think it was ready in 5 business days and my sister picked it up for me so I didn't need to take time off of work again. Pumpkinseed do it today!!

I am getting married on November 6th (two days before you sabrescinderella!) and I called the twsp this week.  I made an appt for me, FI and my mom (you'll need a witness) to submit the application for a marriage license on October 9th.  It will be ready to pick up three business days later.  I don't think you are too late but I think you should try to call today or soon.

Do you have to do it in the county where you are getting married, or the county in which you are a resident?

Where to apply: The marriage license application is to be made in the New Jersey municipality in which either party resides and the license is valid throughout the State of New Jersey. If neither applicant is a New Jersey resident, submit the application in the municipality where the marriage ceremony will be performed, the license is only valid in the issuing municipality. Please contact the Local Registrar to determine if license applications are handled during business hours or by appointment.
