Boot Camp WTF! Plus... 1st dress fitting update

I was planning on doing a 10 week boot camp before the wedding, but just found out today it's $500!!  I was expecting around $200-- Is this price typical?   I'm on a pay cut right now, we just bought a house AND I'm paying for a wedding--$500 is just a lot right now but I really want to do it... What do you think?  Is it worth it?Also... check out mywedding dot com/mindi22 for pics from my first dress fitting!

Re: Boot Camp WTF! Plus... 1st dress fitting update

  • That seems pretty steep to me! I am in a boot camp in Maryland. We meet 3 x's a week for 1 hr (the trainer almost always goes over an hr) and the rate is $90/mo.It is excellent and I would not have been able to do on my own what we do in bc.
  • I don't know if it's typical or not, but it would definately be out of my budget. Lots of girls on the DW board swear by The Shred (as you may have heard :)). I had a personal trainer awhile back who was a bit cheaper than that (12 weeks for $300 - it was a special they were running) and that was damn near boot camp as far as I was concerned! Good luck :)
  • You dress is beautiful! How many days of the week is the bootcamp? $50/week seems pretty reasonable if its at least 4 days a week. I think my gym charges $12/class...so at 4 days/week x 10 wk that would $480. If it's less than 4/wk I think that would be pretty pricey. But it does depend on your budget, and if you can't afford $500 right now it might not be worth it to you anyway.
  • I did a boot camp all summer - it was $200 for 4 weeks, 3x a week, so it came out to a reasonable price if you computed what it was per session.  I did it for three months (which only saved me $50 - so it was $550 for 12 weeks), but I also got a "free" gym membership during that time too.  If you think that you would spend $50/session for a personal trainer, it makes it seem like a better deal.  It's a lot of $$, but I thought it was worth it, since it forced me to work out 3x a week (since I was paying for it, I wasn't going to skip it) and I really liked it.  (p.s. I'm in Houston). You might also want to do a google search for other boot camps in your area - it might help to figure out if the price is higher or about right for others in your area.
  • I did a boot camp last year, and it was 200 for 4 weeks!  500 for  10 weeks seems typical to me.  It will be worth it though!  You surely will be nice and toned for your wedding.  However, if you want something cheaper, I suggest Jillian's (from biggest loser)making the cut or 30 day shred.  BOTH ARE AWESOME!!  and much cheaper....
