Anyone heard of John J. Sullivan's?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has heard of this venue? They are located in Ansonia. I'm looking for reviews and haven't really found anything recent. Thanks :)

My boss lives there.  She said it's a restaurant and her dad LOVES the food there, but that she's never eaten there.  Apparently (hearsay!) everyone that goes there is in the over-40 crowd, just FYI.  This may be a positive or a negative for you.

I ate there a few months ago for a funeral reception for FI's grandfather. The food was decent.. I found a bug in one of my drinks, and then the next drink they gave me to replace it the glass was really dirty. And for the salad course, the lettuce was turning brown and slimy. The atmosphere was neat and they have a great patio for outdoor functions and have live music there. But, yes it does tend to be an older crowd that are regulars.. but that shouldn't stop you from holding a function there. Just talk to them about making sure the produce is fresh. ;-)

That's where we are having our rehearsal dinner (upon recommendation of 2 different knotties.) We went last weekend for lunch and their food was absolutely amazing!!! Cute building, cozy atmosphere.

We had our rehersal dinner there and were very happy with everything. They have a few rooms to choose from, the food is delicious and the staff is great. When we went to book it, they were holding a wedding reception outdoors on the patio, which is a decent size, enough room for quite a few tables, dance floor, etc. I am not sure how many people they can accomandate, but it is def worth looking into!

I work nearby, so my work has all of our events there.  The food is usually pretty good, and the staff pretty much.  I can't say I've ever had a bad experience there.

My fiance and I went there one night when they had an Irish band playing.  The food was great and we had a great time until a cop called us outside and told us our window had been smashed and our car got broken into.  It was a very nice place but that put a bad taste in my mouth.

My family lives near there so we have functions there often. They completely redid it about two years ago and it is sooo much better. The food is pretty good and the service is great. I would totally recommend them!

My friend is having her baby shower there next month. They have great chicken parm ;) I am not sure for a wedding venue though. It depends how large it is. If you are on the smaller side like 75 or less, i'd say its good. More than that would be too much.
