Richmond OOT Bags

Hello, I am starting to put together my OOT bags that will be delivered to the hotels. Does anyone have any creative "Richmondy/Virginia" ideas of things to put in the bags? I am planning on the usual stuff... snacks, water, map, what to do in the area, etc but I wanted something else. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Also, does anyone have ideas on what I should write on the welcome tags? Or a DIY way to make them? Thanks, Jen

When I planned on doing OOT bags (which I am not now) I was going to order a Virginia is for Lovers bag or mug for each person. You can buy the stuff around town and on the virginia tourism website. You also might want to check with the "made in virginia " store(google it I am not sure where the closest is to yo. There are a lot of local wineries and orchards that would be great to include in the bag like Graves Mountain orchard apple butter, or virginia peanuts, or a mini bottle of a local virginia wine.

I went by the Visitors' Center at the Greater Richmond Convention Center and got a whole box of 2009 Richmond Guides (or something like that -- I don't remember the exact title and the box is in my car).  There's 60 in a box.  And the best part -- they're free!

I Highly recommend the River City Bean Company if you're interested in including some very Richmondy coffees for your guests.  2 ounce packets (1 pot size, could be used in hotel machines) are $3 each.http://www.rivercitybean.com/They also make really good chocolates infused with coffee. We used them for a project at work and everything was delicious and the ladies were great to work with.  Other than being a satisfied customer I am in no way affiliated!

i second going to the visitor's center - brochures (especially ones with maps of the area) and VA is for Lovers stickers are a great addition to the bags!  we also put in VA Peanuts that we divided into brown bags and slapped a label on.  we added a postcard for everyone and bubbles/bouncy balls for kids.our welcome notes were personalized for each bag but i'd be happy to send you the file i saved with them.good luck!
