  • Wow....I feel cheap...lol.....my budget for a dress was 300.00.......fell in love with a dress that was 500.00.......luckly I had a 50.00 off coupon to Davids from going to the wedding show here in town...plus they were having a 100.00 off sale on any dress over 500.00....PLUS, the dress was going to be discontinued...so I got another 50.00 off......and it ended up being 300.00 just like I was hoping to spend!!!!

  • My budget was 1200, but I came in way under that at $400. Now I am so glad I didn't go overboard on the price plus I love my dress

  • I didn't want to spend a lot but when I looked on David's bridal the dresses I really liked were in the 500-600 range. My step mom offered to pay for dress and alterations etc and didn't set a budget. My dress, veil, undergarments, alterations, shoes (both pairs) and jewelry cost just under $1000 so yay! I only paid for one pair of shoes because the others were not very comfortable for dancing so I will wear them for the ceremony and the others for the rest of the day.
  • I didn't really have a budget, but seeing as my mom generously offered to pay, I knew I wanted to be conservative.  We ended up spending more then I would have ever thought, but my mom was so excited, and told me not to worry.

    Dress- $1300.00
    Belt/Sash- $400.00
    Veil- $350.00
    Ceremony Shoes- $50
    Reception Shoes- $60

  • I wanted to pay not more than $2,000.  Dress was $1500, and I actually have no clue what the veil cost...I didn't ask (oops).  My dress is a corset back and was ordered in the perfect size, so I didn't have much in the way of alterations.
  • My budget was $200! I intended to find one on CL for $100 and have it altered. My Mother was really worried about me settling for a dress. She took me shopping at DB, dress after taxes was about $450 - then I wound up paying $250 for the bra, jacket, and sash. And...another $220 for alterations! She said she would help me with the alterations. Anxiously waiting, as I am NOT comfortable asking but that really cut into things! Nonetheless, I do love my dress. It is very me :)

  • I had originally budgeted 800 dollars for the dress, but ended up buying a sample gown for 599 dollars. So after alterations and accessories, I should still be under my budget.

I didn't have a specific budget because my parents said they would give a specific amount overall for the wedding, dress included. The dress was one of the most important elements to me, though. I wanted to stay under 1000, but i fell in love with one that was right around 1200. Luckily we got a 10 percent credit of 120 because another shop in town was advertising 10 percent off Maggie dresses for the trunk show. My store couldn't do the discount, but they were able to give store credit which we used towards my crinoline and moms dress. My mom made and beaded my veil, so it was maybe 15 or 25 bucks. i don't know because she bought all the supplies. Shoes were purchased by me and written for engagement pictures before i decided to wear them with my dress, do they don't count towards budget. I just need my dress hemmed, cops, and a bustle in terms of alterations. I go Saturday for my first fitting, so we shall see! :

I did not set a budget. I found my dress not even shopping for one several years ago when we first got engaged so when it was time to buy I hunted it down and ordered it without having had it on my body in 3 plus years. The cost was 640 and that included the 80 that was charged for special order/shipping. Which is totally not bad! ETA:Veil 23 from Ebay, headpeice 25..it was regularly 129 but was marked down to 50 and I bought it during Davids half of sale, jewelry set 20...regularly 40 again bought for half off!, shoes for ceremony 65 and 30 for flats..we'll see about alterations once that's done..

  • I didnt really set a budget, but I had to really love it in order to spend more than $1000.
My dress was only $450 at DB. They had a sale going so the dress was $50 off, plus I ordered the dress without a train so that dropped another $50 off. But I did get my headpiece and bolero at DB so grand total for the trip was around $750. Alterations was $130 (take in at bust, hemming, and clips to keep bolero in place). Grand total came under that $1000 mark.

  • I knew I wanted to splurge on my dress so I'd been saving. I wanted to stay under 2000. The dress I fell in love with was 1295 so I was very happy with that!
  • Bought everything at David's Bridal, except the shoes

    Dress and slip $330
    Shoes $20
    Bustle $45
    No Alterations needed
    Veil $150
    Hair clip $30

Total $575.00 (since no alterations were needed I went for a more expensive veil!)

Budget was as low cost as possible.
  • My parents offered to pay for my dress they gave me a budget of 5,000.  The dress I decided on was 2650.00  alterations cost unknown at this point my first fitting is 9/20 I did get a free veil from the dress shop.

My dress budget including alterations was $2000.  I didn't really know what alterations would cost so I just kinda lumped it in the total dress budget and hoped that it would all end up below budget.

My dress itself + tax was about $1600...yes!  under budget!  But I had the designer do a hollow to hem because for some reason they think it makes sense to design the dress to fit a 5'9" model so it was way too long (probably to get more money out of you) so I paid an additional $200 for them to make it shorter to fit me.  The seamstress said she would have charged more to do it if I went through her.  That came to about $200.  So still under budget.

Got fitted last weekend and found out my alterations are going to cost about $390 (needs to be taken in at the bust since I decided to not wear my super padded VS push up bra and get cups sewn in instead and also the bustle that is needed is more elaborate/more work).  So yeah, overall I'm over budget about $200....but oh well!

I didn't really set a budget, just wanted to get whatever I fell in love with.  My first wedding dress I purchased back in April was $600 plus tax, right off the rack, didn't order it.  I left it at the Bridal Store because I didn't want it laying around the house.  Well in the last month I had dress regrets and ended up going back into the store and finding a new dress off the rack again.  The wonderful owner of the Bridal Store gave me the best deal ever and let me use all of the money I paid for the first dress and apply it towards the new dress, and then a $50 fee, instead of having to worry about selling my dress elsewhere.  The New Dress was $625 so I ended up spending $675 plus tax.  I kind of went overboard on the Veil and Hair Piece from her store, but when I tried on my new dress with each of these things I fell in love with them and had to get them, another $225.  Yikes!

  • My budget for all wedding clothes was 1000 which my dad was paying. That includes dress, alterations, underclothes, shoes, my whole wedding wardrobe. Originally I was planning to spend no more than 750 on the dress.

Dress with sash came out to 258.28
    Alterations quoted at 95
If I have a hair piece I will most likely make it myself so I don't expect to spend more than 15 on that.

So all together so far I'm at about 368.
