Minister Vent

I sent an e-mail to the minster that my WC said would be officiating our wedding asking about vows and doing an engagement ring blessing. After a week of no response he tells me that due to a schedule conflict he's no longer doing our wedding, but has directed our WC to another Rev. Seriously?? I mean you would think a Rev. would honor the prior commitments he made. It just really irks me. I've been trying to get an idea of how the ceremony is going to go and I wanted to make sure there are certain things included that mean a lot to us and he treated me like I was crazy for even asking to see a copy of a sample ceremony. Now he's decided that he's not going to do it at all. I'm so frustrated b/c we're getting close and things aren't falling into place like they should be...*sigh* Thanks for letting me get that out, I hope everyone has a great Monday =)

Re: Minister Vent

  • It sounds like you are better off without him!  You deserve to have the wedding ceremony that you want - with the wording and actions being memorable and significant!  Don't feel bad at all...  I definitely plan on reviewing the ceremony and the wording to make sure that FI and happy.  We went to a wedding where there was 4 different sets of vows throughout the ceremony...  FI said afterwards ours should be simple and meaningful.GL with the new minister!
  • Maybe this new person will be more willing to work with you and give you the informaiton you want.  Good luck, and I'm sorry to hear the other guy was such a flake.

  • I agree with pp, you're better off without him.  Obviously he's giving you a hard time now about emailing your the vows, who knows what he'll be putting you through the day of the wedding. Hopefully this new Rev. is way better :O) When will your wc get you in contact with this new Rev?
  • Thanks ladies, you're all right, I'm better off w/o him =) Hopefully my WC will get me the contact info for the new minister today or tomorrow. I wouldn't even mind revising the ceremony when we get there as long as it gets done.
