Question re: Gift for the Groom :)

I've been trying to decide what I want to get Bri as a wedding gift and have come up with a few ideas.  My question is -- Approx. how much did you spend/are you planning to spend on the gift?  I know it's completely subjective and up to me, but I'm a curious kind of gal. :)

    I knew I wanted to get DH something really nice and when I found the BM jewelry and was ready to check out, the watch counter caught my eye.  I ended up getting DH a really nice Citizens Eco Drive WR watch.  It was on sale, plus with an in-store scratch off coupon and the coupon I had with me, I ended up paying $100 for a $250 watch.  He loves it and only wears it when we go out, he doesn't want to wear it to work for fear of it getting damaged.

    That sounds awesome, Jessica!  Lucky, lucky FI. :) Items I am considering...will probably get more than one depending on how much I can afford.* Canon 50mm 1.4 lens (he has a 50mm lens, but it sucks) ~ $400* New Garmin GPS (the one that announces streets by names) ~ $170* A big Canon lens that he's been drooling over for a long time...but it's around $1400 so prob can't afford that one. :(

    Golf clubs $250 ish. I like the idea of buying a nice watch too... we'll see how money goes. Lol. What are B-Pics?

    I got him a Wii.  It has been on his Christmas list for like 2 years, and I knew it would make him soo happy.  It was about $250.  HTH!

    Awwww...that is so cute, Rachel!!  I'm glad Andy finally got his Wii. :)Heather, b-pics are boudoir pics...basically, pics of you in lingerie (for the groom's eyes only, of course!).

    Just scheduled my B-pics....when all is said and dont about $800-$1000. Thats pics, outifts, hair, makeup, pre pic pampering and waxing lol

    FI specifically said, please don't buy me a watch. He doesn't wear any jewelry, not even a watch. You better believe he's going to wear the wedding band though! I am thinking Lions season tickets. Probably around 4-5 hundred.

    I was just thinking the same thing.  Matt went to the Bailey, Banks & Biddle yesterday due to them closing and having everything on sale.  Supposedly he found a diamond tennis bracelet on sale.  WHOA!  I thought we were just getting eachother something small due to us paying for the whole wedding.  Now I'm wondering the same thing?  Maybe I could get him golf clubs??

    Well, your FI is ahead of the game, Katie.  LOL!  Brian didn't even know we were buying gifts for each other.  I told him, "Heck yeah! I'll use any excuse I can get to give you a present."  :)

    FI has been eyeballing this gorgeous Bulova watch since he picked out my e-ring at Jared. He thinks there's "diamonds" in it, but I had to sadly correct him and clarified they were Swarovski crystals..I have to remind him that if he buys it for himself that will leave me next to nothing to get him. I think it's around $400.

    I got him a digital SLR camera with some accessories for about $950 (thank goodness for 12 months interest free financing!) and I also did b-pics which were about $300 give or take.

    I bought my FI a tattoo.  I know it's not traditional, but he has always wanted it and I knew he'd have it forever =)  I just wanted to do something that he would love. It was $350.  Good Luck!!

    It's definitely going to depend on how much we spend on the wedding. I'm the first of my "close family" (ie cousins I actually see and talk with) to throw a wedding so I'm learning that all my estimates are very 1970s. The original plan was to get him a Taghuere watch (~3000). But since we've gone over budget on the hall and photog that probably won't happen!
