Finally put on a wedding dress!

Ok, so who else was nervous walking into David's Bridal for the first time!!! I thought I would hate it, I would cry because I am too fat, blah blah blah! But! I actually really liked it, found some awesome dresses and my mom only cried a little! Not buying right away. Want to look at Reading and Covington wedding districts. Any other suggestions on where to look for a dress before settling on one?

I was nervous too and thought I would look horrible in a strapless until I finally tried one on and loved it! I would suggest looking at bridal and formal and try bridal designs in Montgomery. That is where I got my dress and I had such an awesome experience. Enjoy this time!!

I am very nervous about it! I don't even want to think about it right now until I drop some weight! Right now I really don't need to hurry since our date will be next winter at the earliest, but I'm not looking forward to it! But...you gals made me feel a little bit better about it so thank you! :) LOL

I am a plus size bride and I really wanted to lose some weight before trying on dresses.  However, with a wedding date of March 2010, I knew that I couldn't wait much longer without seriously limiting my options.  I went to Bridal and Formal and David's Bridal.  There were plenty of samples in my size to try on.  I was treated very well in both places, especially during the week when they were not busy.  My only frustration was that there were some styles I had found on line that I liked (Oleg Cassini at DB and Maggie Sottero at BF) but the stores didn't have plus sized samples of those designers.  I was able to try on similar dresses to at least get an idea of that shape of dress on my body.  I ended up picking a Sofia Tollini from Bridal and Formal that I really like!  It has the lace up back so I could lose some weight and it should still fit!!  Good luck!
