I'm so happy right now I could cry. I think I might. At the end of last year FI was laid off (economy sucking) from his IT job. He went on dozens of interviews, but the problem was that he was competing with people who have 10+ years experience and Masters. It was really, really tough. Well he finally found a great job - that is a 2 hour drive away each way. The commute has really worn on him and us. He's gone from 6am - 7:30pm every day. It just sucks, but a job is a job and he needed a job. I definitely don't want to sound ungrateful! The job he's at now... the people are great, they treat him fair, he likes everyone there. Well last week he heard from a company he interviewed with in February! He really liked the people there, and he thought the interview went great, so needless to say when he didn't get it he was crushed. Well apparently this company was put on a hiring freeze, that's why they didn't hire him. Ever since then the company has been growing and growing, they really NEED him now. This company is only 30 minutes away and they officially offered it to him today! Plus he will be making more $$! This is such amazing news! In the offer they put in the time he needs off for the wedding, so it's pretty awesome. They sound like the same people he works for now, just way closer to home. He's so nervous about having to give notice tomorrow at his current job because he does like them so much and is so thankful they gave him this opportunity. Luckily they all know his drive sucks and I know they will understand. This is really a quality of life issue. Anyway, sorry that was so long! I'm just so happy and have to share!
It's still hush-hush because he doesn't want any of his friends from work finding out through FB or something, before he can officially tell his bosses. OH! And we got a super sweet letter and check in the mail from one of his aunts! It's a house warming present I guess, I can't believe it! It seems like things are really turning around for the better right now!
