  Cew & Beatles, FI likes to screw w/ the telemarketers. He will always pretend that whatever they have to say is the most interesting thing in the world, and offers to give them the money or whatever they are asking for. (I have seen him keep somebody on the phone for like 15 minutes) Then, before he gives them the info they need, he tells them that he can't do it right now, but if they give him THEIR home phone number, he will gladly call them during their dinner to "finish the deal".Strangely, they decide they no longer want our business after that.

  Cew, I think our men share a penchant for passive aggressively giving people their comeuppance. I love it. Meg, that's funny. I think I saw that on Seinfeld too. I don't see how telemarketers make any money these days, especially when no one has a home number anymore.

  FI even took it so far as to talk to the guy on the phone. He sent him a pitcure of Walter Matthau and told him he was a retired teacher.

  Believe it or not, we both get telemarketers on our CELL phones a lot. I'm really not sure why this is, and if I answer, I have minimal patience.FI messes with them based on his principle of "Well, they called me so THEY started it".I swear, there are things he can be so mature about, and then crap like that flies outta his mouth, and I have to wonder what I'm REALLY getting into here, lol.

  My FI effs with telemarketers too. I feel sorry for them when he does b/c they are just doing their shiitty job. I'd rather he just hang up on them. What I don't get is that he works in a call center taking escalated calls from irate customers. He gets yelled at everyday, so you'd think he'd have some compassion. Yeah...not so much.

  See, that's how they get us, through generating sympathy! Screw that, I'd rather be overly cautious than risk getting scammed. I'm sure they continue to get their money somehow, probably through another scam.Meg, I love that our FIs do these things... a healthy sense of mischief is something I can appreciate in a marriage.

  At least the scam on them is that they are holding up a degrading sign and not convincing them to send us their entire retirement savings. That's the way I justify it.
