Re: Confessions

  • edited December 2011
I confess that I may do these on Monday as people may have more to confess? Maybe hump day.

I sort of wish FI & I could have the night to ourselves to celebrate our one year til the wedding mark instead of it consisting of boozing with a crap-ton of (mostly FI's) friends. But, I can't really complain since we're at least in AV for the weekend.

i confess that i did not celebrate my "one year engagement" mark or my "one year wedding" mark.  what's the point?

I don't understand the popularity behind Farmville, but then again I've never played it, haha.   I wish I would get out early today instead of receiving overtime.

I confess that I am all about finding excuses to celebrate whenever possible.  FI and I went out to dinner for our 6.5 year anniversary on Wednesday and it was great!

All these new shows I want to see are making my head spin and I can't keep up. I'm confusing times and dates. I need to write this stuff down.

I confess I hate my job because they make me go in one Saturday a month. I am a teacher- this is ridiculous. And because of my husband's job, I don't know when I"ll be able to l eave. :(

I confess that if one more person asks FI or I can they bring a guest I'm gonna pull my hair out!  And no, just because another person declined does not mean that you get to substitute a guest.

C&P from TN because I'm all hot and bothered by this: I confess that the neshaminy school district teachers picketing at my son's back to school night last night was pointless for me. They, of course, are asking for a bunch of things and are asking for a 6-7% raise. One of the members of the school board lives on my street and he was telling us that the neshaminy school district teachers are one of the highest paid districts in all of PA. But yet they want more.  I find it really hard to be sympathetic for them in an economy like this and they should be thankful that they even have fking jobs in the first place. Thousands of people are JOBLESS!! From the neshaminy blog: "We are in the midst of a national debate on health care as millions of Americans have no insurance at all.  Those who have insurance through their employer contribute minimally 25-35% more to they monthly costs, but the NFT (neshaminy school district teachers) insists that teachers contribute NOTHING towards their top tier coverage..." I think most of what they are picketing for is BS and I don't really have sympathy for them. Teachers at my son's school make 80, 90, 100k a year.

I confess that I always thought substituting a guest was ok. no? I say this because Ryan can rarely make weddings so I see if there is someone else that can go with me. Am I a bad guest?
  • edited December 2011
Val,  If my married guests were unable to bring their spouse I would definitely consider them substituting a guest but when a family member that I didn't allow to bring a guest finds out another family member isn't coming and asks to substitute a guest for a guest it kinda annoys me.

I confess DH discovered Val's freezer bag in the corner and loves it for his beer but I told him he must give it back when we see her... I think he is going to tear when the time comes haha

LOL! I completely forgot about it. I'm glad he likes it. I can't remember where I got it and I haven't seen anything like it before.

hw - you have sam's pearl necklace? wow. you guys are close. :) i confess that i dont care about wedding planning anymore. i would much rather look at paint samples and furniture and home accent decor than invites, flowers, cakes etc.

I confess I am a teacher and I agree with Heather. You need to look at the climate in the country/ world when you decide to strike or picket. Most people have to contribute to their healthcare costs. Personally I would rather pay towards the cost and have top of the line insurance then pay nothing and have so-so or crap insurance. I further confess that I asked my friend last June if he would be invited to her wedding last Aug. Since I have been on the knot I have felt really bad about this. In my defense we needed to know when he would come to the US to meet my family.

dammmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn on a side note hdubba - i agree with you on the teacher thing. i think alot of ppl need to take a step back and look at the economic realities of the area/country today.

I just reread my post. I meant to say I asked my friend if FI would be invited to her wedding.

I confess that my FI needs a job in Neshaminy School District. 100 K a year really? I didn't think that was possible for any teacher!
  • edited December 2011
Well not all make 100K but the range for my son's elementary school is 80-100K+++.  The lowest teacher makes 60 because she's only been there 2 years. (I get a good scoop from my neighbor on school board! haha)

HW, that's just so bad. The worse part is, they will probably get it. That has to do with the union, right?

I confess that I found out last night that one of the guys in FI's band won't be able to make a big show they already booked and don't want to be the one to tell FI b/c he gets all frustrated and loud quickly when he gets bad news.  At the same time I feel guilty, b/c I didn't tell him--it's between them though. I just feel bad.
