  I did it all in one day. I actually went to the DMV first, but you should be good there with just your marriage license, current DL, and whatever else you need to get 6 points. And the letter they gave you at SS should be good enough in case they ask for a SS card too.

  They told me I needed my SS card to get a new license, but I didn't think that was right. Thanks for the info!

  yea it was so much easier than i thought too. but i still havent gone to dmv and i've had my new card for months..lol

  Yeah, it was much easier than I thought it would be. I did DMV first then SS. The credit cards were the most simple...just a phone call. If you change your passport name within the first 6 months of getting married it's free: I of course did not do that and had to pay the full price.

  That's good to know too, Irene. Did you do it by mail? It seemed like they wanted you to send the original marriage cert in -- which seems ridic. Did I read that wrong? I will just find an office and go in person!

  Linz, you do need new pictures. I was glad because my old one had a horrible picture. That's hard to live with for 10 years. LOL

  Ahh nice to know thx ladies - I've done it all except the SS card...I'm a slacker - I didn't know the 6mos thing about passports, thanks Irene. Irene off topic - but did you get my email last week?
