Cake Disaster

My fiance has a severe milk allergy.  He can't have any milk, butter, etc...

To keep tradition, we plan on offering a small cake for our guests and families, but we are in desperate need of ideas on what else to serve.

I'm much more a cook than a baker, and am totally at a loss as to what we can feed each other in lieu of the traditional wedding cake.

HELP!!!

    Hmm,

    What about a fruit tart?

Does he have many sweets that he likes? What would he normally get for dessert?!

Many caterers offer "dessert bars" instead of cake (or in addition to). Locally-owned places would probably have ideas for you. We are using Gateway Market and John, the catering rep, had tons of ideas for out-of-the-box foods. So that's an idea for you.

In all the craziness that is meeting and marrying withing a 6 month time period...I didn't really stop to think about asking what his favorite dessert would be.

    Problem now solved.  Thanks!
