AHR

What are your plans? Formal, casual, somewhere in between? Where are you hosting your AHR? Will you have traditional reception things (DJ, cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc.) or more of just a meet and greet? We are getting married on Halloween and planning a very casual house party to celebrate on Friday the 13th (2 weeks later). Right now the plan is to just send announcements and then call everyone by phone to let them know about the party. We are going to play the DVD of our ceremony, but I'm kinda stumped on whether or not there are other things we should include.

Re: AHR

  • We're going the brunch route and the only wedding-ish thing we're doing is a cake, since I promised FI that his favorite baker could do our wedding cake.
  • I'm having a backyard AHR. It'll be casual (maybe not jeans and tee casual though). I plan on doing a cake, different dances, I don't think I'll do a bouquet toss, and I'm not having a DJ (Just hooking up my FI's sound system to my laptop).I'm sending invitations out for it that say that we're getting married in St Lucia in August and inviting everyone to come and celebrate at a backyard reception when we return.Hope this helps!
