    Haha. I don't know, I've only seen a photo! For $700 it had better be freakin' amazing. Imagine if I posted this on a national board? I'd probably get my a$$ (or my mom's a$$) handed to me.

    my mom, the same! but she only spent 250, along with another 150 for a second dress...i want to see your mothers dress!

    Yeah, you probably would have gotten a good "scolding" for posting this on P&E or the likes.  Besides, like Michelle said, inflation is a biatch.  I'm not sure of the hard numbers, but basically a $700 dress today is the equivalent to a $200 dress 30 years ago.

    Ha!  I got curious and looked up an inflation calculator and got this: $700.00 in 2009 had about the same buying power as $225.42 in 1979.  Annual inflation over this period was about 3.85%. Damn, I'm good! :D
