Am I Normal?

Re: Am I Normal?

• You know, I've talked to 2 different Dr's about my fertility concerns and both just kind of brushed it off and said I'm too young to worry about it and they can't tell me anything until I start trying. They also both just suggested BC to make everything regular but I feel like thats a bandaid for what could be a problem. It's frustrating when the Dr. won't listen.
• blech, mucus. Here's hoping I get prego without charting. I'm such a prude, even with my own body. I'd prefer to talk about someone else's charting than my own, to be perfectly honest.

• Hormonal birth control actual helps ovarian cysts if you still get them. I had one burst too so I know how much that sucks, but they put me on the pill at the time to get rid of them (I had tons of little ones not just one big one). I only have had problems since then when I have not been on BC.

• That is pretty funny, lynds.  Even funnier:  my bff who is a lesbian was on bc for awhile before they started IUI and IVF.  I'm not sure why, but I remember chuckling about it.

• The Billing's method charts involves charting mucus. Basically, when mucus is present, sex should be avoided. This is because the mucus plug (that blocks sperm) is beginning to deteriorate.

• Sucrets--When I went through my pre-cana classes, they had 2 forms of NFP, the charting and the mucus.hmmm...

• I think I am also going to have a heart to heart with one of the nurses at my work and seek her advice. It's not hurting my relationship at this point, but we have 8+ months to go. So, I guess it's not so normal to be so scared of getting pg prior to your wedding.
• Man, all this talk of mucus and cysts is making me feel so sexy. Anyone else?
• You should know that I don't trust things from the church.  ;)I don't know what they entail, but the older ones were based on the 28 day cycle myth.  The newer, more scientific ones are the ones that are more reliable.

• It's normal to be scared. I'm scared. But I take the precautions so I know that it won't happen and that way I feel free to have an active sex life. You need to do that same.
• Oh yes Sarah...isn't it sexy? I'm glad T is asleep
• Shelly, in our pre cana classes I was under the impression that the charting and mucus stuff went together, as in one combined method? I could be totally wrong though, they just did an overview. Sucrets, that's pretty hilarious! She must have had a health issue too.
• Here's the link to the Billing's method which I use. I also know several other married couples who have used, and it's work great. But again, seek out all your options and find what works best for you http://www.billings-centre.ab.ca/general/index.html

• Oh, no, I don't get cysts anymore. It was just that one, horrible, painful, one that burst when I was younger.Anyways, thankya ladies. I have to get to bed. I need to be up and cooking in 7 hours. I am going to do some reading in the next few days.
• GL - I hope you find something that works for you!

• No, they do the scientific stuff, they made it clear they don't use the "rhythm method" anymore.Anyhow, I'm going to bed, and from this post I'm sure I'll have some warped pregnancy dream.Good night! I looooooove you!!!

• BC can cause deep thrombosis but do you have a history of anything that could lead to a blood clot? If you don't want to get pg, you really need some other type of BC besides condoms.

• I'm a bit late to the game but...MissSarah, you are cracking me up.I'm now getting to experience my post birth control cycles. It's been...interesting...Am, you definitely need to see a new doc. I wanted to avoid bc but I also really didn't want to get pregnant, so in I went. I was scared because my mom had cancer shortly after starting birth control and I was worried the same would happen to me. My doc and I discussed all the different types, what the risks were, etc.No doc should just write you a prescription and boot your butt out the door. Mine kind of did that with my asking about prenatals and actually called me the next day to apologize and we talked in length about what to look for.
