any hair reccomendations

i posted yesterday about when do to trials. i want to do it with my stylist and will go to her salon the day of the wedding.  i have a trial for april..marrying in may.WELL, i told my fiance last night how i have to go to her the day of because  its cheaper and i dont have to worry about minimums.  now im worried because its a friday wedding and the salon is 45 minutes away!so i called my stylist today and she told me i need a minimum of 3 hours (4 services..hair/makeup) for her to come to my house..which costs a minimum of $850. 200 bucks each additional hour.im all in a frenzy bc i have no clue who to use now!

    Whoa, that seems kinda crazy to me. There are tons of stylists that people use on here. I would consider definitely shopping around.

    yeah its nuts.  i really want to use her but my fiance is like what if there is an accident etc..and then you are running late.

    That sound nuts. I had a salon for all of us but low and behold, they flaked out one by one. In the end, i drove myself to get hair done and i am happy about that decision. It was too much stress worrying about everyone else. See if you can find someone else closer. What area will you be at for your wedding day?

    im from morris county.  any suggestions? my girl is 45 min away.. my fiance is like worry about you and no one else, BUT i have to worry about them if i want things done at my house because of minimums.im panicking now because i dont want to be late the day of the wedding and because people are booking up. my hair is at 8..i figured thats plenty of time..but its a friday weddingplus, some of my girls arent the most reliable.  i love them but they arent.

    Fi is right. Since you have time, give yourself piece of mind and try to find someone closer and more reasonable. Evey your stylist might be able to reco someone that fits the bill. She should understand why and hopefully not be offended.

    I hear you, but honestly, save yourself the headache. Come your wedding day, all you want to do is live in the moment and not have to worry about other people. BTW - we must have the same BP. LOL! Not that my girls were unreliable, but they did drive me crazy. And day-of, it was like they all toked from the same bong. Worry about yourself and that's it. Once you find someone, then you can just tell your girls "here's who I'm using... feel free or find your own way." And that's it. FYI - i did hair at a salon and then came home to do make-up. I did give the girls a schedule of when to be at my house for the make-up and said, "use it or loose the spot, but you still have to pay." And they all made it in time for that. Oh, I almost forgot. I used Shag 86 in Little Falls. Not sure how far you are in MC...

    im in randolph.. my stylist is in totowa. what im worrying over is finding someone who doesnt have a minimium so they can come to my house. if worse comes to worse then i will drive to them the day of.. my girls are great, but they arent realiable and thats bc some are away in school.  so they have to come home to order the dresses etc and they dont know when yet.. but they have to be ordered at the end of the month! so this hair and makeup thing is another stress..

    Awe... I'm sure it'll all work out. Hmm. Not sure what your other post said, but as I recall, most hair stylists who come to your house are more expensive than going to a salon. I felt more comfy going there because they have all their tools there for any "oh shite" moments and if I was running late, there's always people lingering at the salon that could pitch in to get you back on schedule. I wish I could be more help. Just don't know anyone closer to you. You do have the hair and mu spreadsheet listing, right? If not I can send you. Let me know.

    i have one, but not sure if it is yours. sent it anyway.thanks so much! i thought the same thing about them having their tools etc.. i guess ill shop around and if i cant find someone to come to me, i'll just drive to totowa praying for the best haha

    I'm in Mine Hill, right next door to Randolph and I went to Kelly at the Despaquale Salon/Spa. She was truly awesome and only a 10 minute ride. $850 is OBSCENE and I'd slap a ho that told me I had to pay that much! lol
