AI Sandals= No kids?!

Still looking at stuff.  (Whee, I loooove wedding planning). These AI style places with wedding packages sound perfect.  The groom's Dad said he wanted to cover the honeymoon, so that may boost their total budget.Anyways, I have a kid and I'm going to assume that, "I really want you all to be there" means the little guy too.So, can you rec some AI's that do weddings and will allow my kiddo?  Especially if you already got married and you loved it?  I've heard you can do cruise ships too?  Has anyone done that?

Re: AI Sandals= No kids?!

  • Hello, and welcome!  I'm an old married who was just passing by (slow day on the Nest boards) and I'd like to offer my advice.  We got married at Beaches Sandy Bay which is the family-friendly sister resort to Sandals (http://www.beaches.com).  We LOVED out resort and the wedding was fantastic.  Beaches Sandy Bay is in Negril and literally next door to Sandals Negril.  So our guests who wanted a more romantic vacation could stay at Sandals Negril (three couples did) and those who wanted to come as a group or had kids could stay at Beaches.  It worked out great giving out guests that option and being so close to the other resort that we could visit each other.  So we stayed at BSB for 3 days for the wedding and then went next door to Sandals for the honeymoon.  It was a great compromise for having a family-oriented wedding and a private couples-only honeymoon without too much hassle. You can see my full reviews and pics on my Married bio (and a lot of info on my Planning bio if you're interested).
  • Also, there's a Beaches near two Sandals resorts in Ochos Rios as well.  So if you want to go the Beaches/Sandals route you can choose between Ochos Rios, Jamaica and Negril, Jamaica.  Though I recommend Negril.  =)
  • Riu also kid friendly

  • I posted early to your questions. There are quite a few AI's in MX. If you are still thinking your sister might like there. We too are on the west coast and that is what drew up to MX compared to the Caribbean. There is a caribbean side to MX so the water is better or snorkeling/scuba. romancebymelia.com we are using the middle package and the resort is AI that always kids. They have pretty good reviews on tripadvisor. I am going to go visit and ensure it's everything we hope in November. If you sister is interested in my thoughts I can let you know when we get home. HTH!!!
