Co-op Idea (long)

Ladies:I have been brainstorming on budget saving ideas and have come up with a co-op idea. I think this can only work for local AAW knotties. I say only our AAW board since we all are so close and nurturing. I say only local for ease of swapping. So the idea is this...if it is an item that you are thinking of purchasing for instance chargers, apothecary jars, vases, chair covers, etc. and another knottie may be able to use them for her reception too, then why not split the purchasing costs then the first knottie use the items and then give them to the next knottie that went in on the purchase.  The last knottie with the merchandise must post for sale and then all knotties split sale price.Conceptually, this could potentially save on small items that add up. Can you all weigh in on the up and down sides and let me know if this is something y'all would be interested in.Just HTH us all save money while helping each other out.Cicy

I think it's a great idea and I do think it would best benefit AAW knotties that are local for the convenience of quick exchange. Like for instance, I'm currently on a mad search for a silver square 14" cake plateau...if any other local AAW knotties were also looking for the same exact thing, we would go in and split the cost and whoever's wedding or event comes up first gets to use it and must give it to the next knottie to use...once each party has used the item, it would be posted as a sale item and the profit of the sale will be equally split between the knotties that originally purchased the plateau = is that a correct summary of what you've proposing??

That sounds like a great idea.  I can't think of any cons.

**tamtam7**: Me either. As long as everyone takes care of the merchandise and gets it to the other knottie when she needs it. I am willing to co-op on chair covers and chargers. Shoot even my cupcake stands and cake stands that I already own.  I wanted to pick up a few more pieces to complete the set for the food display table.BTW: tamtam are you local? We may need to hook up for real.

**tamtam7**: Your colors are the same as ours except we are doing gold instead of silver.

That's an awesome idea. We are considering buying chandelabras for our centerpieces instead of renting them (at lest 15 of them). If I knew I could swap, sell things I bought for my wedding, I'd probably try to do more projects. I never wanted a room full of stuff I bought for my wedding that I'd eventually throw away.Great idea Cicy

Great idea! I am NOT trying to promote my company but I own a special event decor and linen company including chair covers etc so if you ladies need something and if I can ship it to you i have no prob doing so just let me know what you need and if I got it I work something out for you. HTH I will swap as well whatever I down!
