Creative Help for a Planetarium Venue

My Ceremony and Reception are scheduled to happen at a Planetarium and it's lobby. The ceremony will happen in the Planetarium which is a very plain circular room (think any other planetarium). Dinner will happen in the lobby that has white/gray tile floors and a white/silver theme. It's at a college so it's a very 'sciency' area... We're also having dancing/casino tables in a separate room that is enclosed in glass on all sides. Our colors are blush pink, black and silver.I'm having problems thinking of how to decorate the areas. The hardest part is the dinner area since the 2nd and 3rd floors look down over the lobby area and I have a very limited budget for decorations. I'm doing black linens with pink table runners. Unsure of the centerpieces as of now. Thanks for any ideas.

Re: Creative Help for a Planetarium Venue

  • I saw a really neat idea with urn type flower pots, sand or foam base, twigs (like from the yard) all spray painted silver....it looked really neat...inexpensive too.. You could add some pink flowers (not fake) and I think it could be gorgeous! With Christmas coming up you might be able to find alot of silver decorations.  Large vases or bowls filled with silver and pink bulbs. If you use twinkle lights or candles the light would reflect off of the silver items...could be really pretty.
  • Wow, thank you both for your responses. I LOVE the idea of the silver branch centerpieces. It's also great to see photos of another Planetarium wedding, now I just have to find a photographer that's knowledgeable enough to take photos inside of the planetarium.
