DIY Flowers

Hi Ladies-If anyone is DIYing flowers, and using a local CT business (preferably around Hartford), could you give me the name/website?I've looked into some online suppliers, and into Whole Foods.  I just want to make sure I'm getting the most value for my money.

I'm DIYing my centerpieces.  I had found online wholesalers for the flowers, but it ends up that my florist that's doing the bouquets is matching the online prices that I found and ordering the flowers for me.  She's not that close to Hartford though, but it might be worth thinking about making the drive to her.  She's in Southbury.  The company is Flore.  Lori is the owner.  I feel more comfortable having the 'pro' order the flowers and be responsible for their quality rather than me trying to do that.

I love the idea of using local CT businesses and farms! Try going to www.buyctgrown.com. There is a search engine on the site (on the top) where you can put in "flowers" and then how many miles outside of Hartford you are willing to go. There are quite a few places.

I just looked at some of them off buyctgrown using a 5 mile radius around Hartford. I'd look into mischief bouquets. Locally grown..he especially does weddings. It looks like the most promising. I think they have a website.

I might take a look at that, too - I just had my 2nd florist visit and this one was literally twice the price of the first person I met with. I have 2 more appointments lined up in the next week but good Lordy - flowers are EXPENSIVE.

Thanks SillyGoose (sorry if I got that wrong)- I looked into Mischief Bouquets.  They're "on sabatical" this year, but I'm considering seeing if they plan to come back next year.  Just want to cover my bases.
