Registry Question

Almost everything is gone off of our registry.  We did a fairly small one due to not needing much - just some upgrades/replacements.  I always do cash for wedding gifts but I know some people don't like to do that.  I really don't want anymore stuff but I don't want people to be annoyed that there is nothing left to buy.  Do you think I should add more things or just leave it be?

Re: Registry Question

  • This is a tough one....you don't want to receive things that you truly don't need/want, but you also don't want people who solely give gifts to go off of what they think you would like (well I guess depending on the person)!! I am with you, but always give money. However, after talking with several of my friends...they got gifts and not money for their wedding...usually from older relatives, etc...Maybe if you can find a few things to add do that, but if you don't want anything, you don't want anything you know? Although anything from BB&B you can return for cash. I am just throwing it out there!! :)
  • That's exactly what I was thinking!  Return for cash later if need be.  I really would like to avoid getting random gifts with no gift receipt.  However, I guess that will happen no matter what.
  • Guys-- be warned, BB and beyond CHANGED their policy and NO LONGER give cash.  I was very annoyed to find this out because when I had created my registry that was the policy but it has NOW CHANGED!!!  They now ONLY give store credit!!!

  • I heard a while ago, from Lisa7 (I believe) that BB&B does not allow you return for cash anymore. You could try my coworkers approach - register for super expensive things in hopes people give cash or gift cards? Or just tell you parents / bridal party to spread the word? I don't know, sorry.
  • That stinks!  Ok, I'm leaving it as is.  Hopefully, I don't end up with three toasters.  I own a house - I have a toaster!
  • I just returned a TON of stuff at BB&B maybe two weeks ago and they gave me cash for it all....no questions asked. Maybe they changed the policy since then?!
  • Hmm... well that's good. I almost wonder if it varies store to store? BB&B definitely seems like the kind of company where their stores are all doing different things.
