On another board there was a post asking if it was okay to use a tampon after sex for the leakage.  She was worried that b/c she isTTC the tampon would suck all the sperm.  Okay yes the tampon sucking up the sperm is an issue on it's own.  But does anyone else use a tampon for sperm leakage after sex? 






What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

    Umm no.  I go to the bathroom and clean myself up.  I'm not TTC, which I guess would change the cleaning a little bit, but good lord no tampon.Wait I'm the wrong person to ask about this anyway since we always use a condom, but still.

    I have never freaking heard of that. Wha? The stuff leaking out doesn't really affect TTC. The sperm would already have moved from the semen to the cervical fluid by then. There are sort of pockets inside the cervix where the sperm hang out and the semen can, uh, go it's merry way back out.

    Urrrggh. Nothing goes in or around that area unless it's necessary. Getting all handly in the area is just asking for a UTI.
    On bed rest since Groundhog's Day and every day since has been exactly the same.

    I was just thinking about all the millions of TMI coversations I have had with woman, using a tampon as a sperm catcher has never come up.






    What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

    It's crossed my mind out of practicality, but I would never do it.  Sometimes I'll put on a pantyliner if there's a lot.And ditto bubb about ttc - all  the important stuff is already doing its job.

    I'm pretty sure it says right on the tampon box that they shouldn't be used for any other kind of fluid, except, you know, blood. I just take a shower.

    Why would anyone put one up there if not completely necessary?  I go to the bathroom after and then use a hot washcloth to clean up.

    I'm with tlv on this. Cleaning up in the bathroom afterwards is fairly simple. You just reminded me of an incredigross story. When I was a young silly teen, I went out with this guy who was from a really dodgy family. I once went over there, and his sister 18 yo sister was walking around with a towel between her legs. I didn't say anything (although was like WTF in my teenage head) and she explained when she saw me looking confused (in front of her mother, no less) that she was just cleaning up after getting busy with her boyfriend. Serious WTF moment.

    *minus one 'sister' (and some alcohol) in the above. And seriously, I can't believe I went out with that guy now I remember his family. The sister was proclaiming this in front of the two younger sisters, one 4 years old. Hello inappropriate. Needless to say, it didn't take long until I broke up with that boy.
