Band vs DJ

Which does everyone prefer? If we go with a DJ, I already know who I'm using, but if we choose a band, I have not decided. Anyone have any band suggestions?

    DJ's cost less then bands.  I prefer DJ's but Anna used a band and it was also fab.

    We are using Philly Horn Band...they have been awesome so far.  I'll let you know how they turn out in 2 weeks or so!

    All the weddings I've been too with bands had DJ's too...I LOVE the sound of a band and the energy it brings but don't like when they sing some songs and would prefer a DJ for it.  If I did a band I would definetly have a DJ too.

    We are having a band for the first 4 hours (and they include a sax player and piano for the cocktail hour) and then from 11-midnight we are bringing in a DJ, so it's the best of both worlds!  If you use the same company for both and use their lighting, they do package rates.

    We are using a band, they're called Soul Revival. They are FABULOUS, we heard them at a showcase and loved them. Check them out, www.soulrevivalband.com

    We used Marquee and they were AMAZING! In my opinion, a band brings an energy to a wedding that a DJ just can't create. Marquee was very reasonably priced and they kept guests dancing all night long. If I had to do it all over again I would hire them again.

    DJ's are ok but there is nothing like live entertainment. One of the hottest bands out there right now is a band called "The The Max". You can check them out every Friday night at Cafe Madison in Riverside, NJ. They play from 9:30-12:30. go to cafemadison.com for directions.
