I was talking to my sister last night and she was telling me that my BIL still don't have his passport. They all got theirs already back in July, but BIL's is still missing.The problem is that most of his papers are in NJ and they live in PR now; they were missing some extra paper they needed from him, but they have everything now...the last thing they heard was that is was going to be processed, but nobody can tell them when it's going to be sent out.We are leaving 3 weeks from today and I'm starting to panic about everything and this is not helping.Can you please send some of those vibes, for him to get it on time?

Vibes your way love. Now this may sound stupid but I think something like this happend to a knottie around the time I was leaving and I think they contacted their local congressman. would that work for BIL? I think Tracey suggested it. ask her.

There is some info on expediting his passport request here:http://www.travel.state.gov/passport/get/processing/processing_1740.htmlI had a friend in college who misplaced his passport and they were able to provide him with same-day service but he had to go to Washington DC.

Someone on the honeymoon board posted that their passport only took 3 weeks, and that was without expediting it. Hopefully it's already on its way, but I'll still send tons of vibes his way!

PR uses the Miami Agency mostly, but chances are it could also be processed through the Charleston Center. Passport processing is a very national operation now since 2007 so it varies where applications go. There is still plenty of time so no worries - it really only takes a few hours and they can express mail it back so when he's at about a week and a half - then panic :)He should be able to go to this website to track the application online. The site will also notify him when the passport is out in the mail. https://passportstatus.state.gov/opss/OPSS_Status_ip.aspIf that doesn't suffice, he can submit an inquiry to the National Passport Information Center (NPIC) at 1-877-487-2778. Tell them that he'd like to speak to a supervisor and insist on being connected to the customer service manager at the agency that is processing his paperwork.

Vibes headed your way!!!! Can they pay to expedite it just in case? I believe it's an extra $60. Unfortunately that's what I have to do since I am such a slacker and haven't applied for mine yet so that we can visit the BVI's while we're down there.
