Uptown Area

My aunt is in town from Florida and she wants to have Happy Hour possibly today. Can somebody reccommend a great, affortable place? Prefer a place with great music and specials! TIA!

Sarah, while I work in the Uptown area, I have no idea where you can go to get great music and specials. Try the Victory Park area-Maybe the Victory Tavern?  IDK... Maybe the West Village?

Oh yeah! Good idea! THanks! I could not think of any places for the life of me.

My brother likes The Lune/Loon.  I don't know how to spell it.  It's on the edge of Uptown I think.  Mark Cuban used to go in there all the time.  He says they have a heavy pour.

I second the Loon, but they don't specials. They're not pricey though. McKinney Ave Tavern Frankies Primos The Gingerman The Black Friar Old Monk Christies (sports bar) Victory Park is fun and somewhat touristy, but also the most costly.

FI likes the Gingerman and The Old Monk.  We like the Library Bar in the Melrose (my venue)--very classy but it's piano music and the drinks are expensive.  There's Cubra Libra and Sambuca.  Victor Tango is new.Steel in my building the Centrum does happy hour with free sushi on Wednesdays but you have to get there EARLY.

My brother won't necessarily go to places with specials because he doesn't like big crowds.  He thinks the heavy pour makes up for the slightly higher price.
