We went to Vegas for our 6 year anniversary. Since our actually anniversary was spent packing and prepping for a friend's wedding and our trip, I made him promise to take me to a really nice restaurant in Vegas. I ended up choosing the Top of the World in the Stratosphere because he couldn't find a place. I went into the trip hoping he would propose, but not really expecting it to happen. So after the waiter cleared out the dinner plates I said "Wouldn't this have been a great place to propose?" And he asked if I was sure I wanted to marry him and why can't I be more patient, as he's pulling out the ring. He was going to wait til dessert! I was so annoyed/pissed that I "ruined" it with my impatience. A year later and he's still a little upset/disappointed I didn't cry.

she takes it off a lot at work, cause she has to lift boxes sometimes or clear a pallet.  She is an inventory manager.  and she is worried about getting held up at Yankee stadium, not dropping it.

On Mother's Day we went to visit my mom's grave. It was my 1st mother's day without her and I was not looking forward to it. We left flowers and said a prayer and next thing I knew he was proposing. He wanted my mother to be there with me when he did it.

when we got back we went to her mom's grave and my grandfather's grave to share with them, but they are always with us, just like now with my grandmother, she is in the car with me sometimes.

Karma - While I love most proposal stories, that tops my sweetest/most thoughtful list. Sounds like you have found a very caring FI.

FI brought me back to our college and had every intention of entering the dorm where we met and proposing in between our rooms (we lived across the hall from each other.) We couldn't get in the dorm, so instead he found a nice, shady bench in a scenic area of campus. I had no idea what was going on, until I went to rest my head on his chest and I could hear his heart pounding. By the time I was giving him a quizical look, he was down on his knee.

FI and I met on the street so he took me back to the exact spot and got down on one knee on the wet and icky sidewalk.  He had this whole elaborate story about a weekend away but instead had planned for my family to come up to celebrate for the weekend.  :)

My FI completely surprised me with his proposal.  He had asked my parents for their blessing in August '08 when we were all down the shore together. He proposed one night in Oct. in our apartment after he cooked dinner.  He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.  It was perfectly us...sweet, low-key, private.  To tell you the truth, I have no recollection of the sweet words he said...since I was so surprised and delighted!  Funny thing is, I was in the dark!  All of his friends knew, his coworkers knew, my parents knew, his parents knew...  I'm glad I was surprised and wasn't expecting it (despite the fact that we were dating 2.5 years and living together for a year).

My roommate (at the time) and I were having a New Year's Eve party. FI and I met New Year's day 2007 and he proposed New Year's Eve 2008 at midnight. When the ball dropped he asked me to be his wife. I was stunned at first because I had my eye's on the tv watching the ball drop. It took me a minute to figure out what he just said before I said yes. It was nice to celebrate with friends and family afterwards.

My FI planned what he called the "birthday surprises for Sarah" road trip of the coast of CA. Mid-way through the trip we want to Hearst Castle and in the middle of the tour we were on he pulled me aside while the group went inside the castle. On the steps of the grand front doors to the castle he proposed. I have some pics but can't seem to figure out how to post them on the threads. I was very surprised. He had asked my parents the week before and had the ring custom made. It was perfect!
