Not sure if I spelled that right....Anywho...When addressing invitations, two "families" are in the same house, do you send each a separate invitation or put them both on one invitation since its the same household?

I am not "Etiquette Queen" but regardless of living arrangements I think one invite per family. So you can send two seperate invites:)

I have an example of a recent invite "we" recieved. Fi cousin is getting married, she sent invite to FMIL house addressed to FILS, FSIL(who doesnt live there), and US. FMIL was pissed, said it was tacky, cheap, and unclassy to not send an invite to each family so to speak. Just an example of how it may be percieved. I personally don't think it will break the bank to add on one more invite, however you were not asking to save money just proper etiquette(right?)..

Well everybody's situation is different and I guess I was basing it off mine and how some of my folks on my guests lists are living. In my opinion, they should only receive ONE invite... for instance my Aunt and her hubby and my cousin and her boyfriend and their child live in the same household. That house is NOT getting two invites. Now other situations, I believe can get two invites..I guess it all just depends.

I would do one invite per family. Hopefully it won't cost you too much to do it this way.

One invite per family. If 2 different families are living in the same household they each deserve their own separate invite.

I agree with OFF because I had that issues with fi's childhood friend sending 1 invite to FIL house including us as one household. Fi and I live together and we don't live there. Fine if they dont have our address but we should have received our own invite because it was like pulling tooth from his mom to get the church name, ceremony time and reception because she could never find it.

Yes I want to save money also....and I only have a limited amount of invites. It's his aunt (who is widowed) and her daughter & her husband. They all live in the same house.

I'm at this stage in my planning. And it is proper to address both families in the housewhole with one invitation. Ex.Mr. and Mrs. JohnsonMr. and Mrs. Smith

Etiquette says that anyone who is 18+ in a household should get their own invite. In your case each "family" should get an invite (etiquette-wise). Your aunt should have one for herself and her daughter and husband should have a separate one together.
