Out of Town Officiant Question...

Our officiant is the youth minister I had growing up, and I am closer with him than anyone else that could marry us.  So he is more than willing to do it, and is.  My situation is that he no longer lives in the area, he lives up by Chicago.  He's driving down to KY for the rehearsal and ceremony.  I've already sent him a $50 gas card, and $25 at a restaurant I know he likes, but I don't know what else to do?  He isn't asking for anything.  What are your thoughts?

Is he having to stay overnight? If so, I think paying for his accommodations would be a very nice gesture.

Yes, but he wants to stay with one of my friends family.  He always stayed with them before, so he likes going back there.  If that makes sense.

I would suggest a gift card to a store or something along those lines that you know he would enjoy if you want to get him something else.  Either that or just a really nice w/ a little bit of cash in it would work, too.  GL!
