Linens-HELP

All you ladies who've booked linens through companies outside of your venue/caterer how did you know what size table cloths to get and how many of everything? Did you find the vendors themselves were very helpful or that you needed to know specifics and they just gave you pricing?

I'm overwhelmed with all this stuff! As I posted in my "Vent" posting, my caterer is being helpful BUT her 2 preferred companies are pretty expensive compared to some of the ones that were recommended on here.

Thanks ladies :)

The company providing your tables should be able to tell you the size of the tables then whichever linen company you hire will be able to tell you the correct size tablecloth to fit that table.

I went with Linens and Beyond, they have good prices and were able to work with my budget.

I'm planning to get my table sizes from my venue and then let my linen company know how many tables are what sizes...

I'm going to meet with linens and beyond as well since i've found their prices to be really good by comparison...

Another option to consider is www.linentablecloth.com - you can purchase your tablecloths and then sell them afterwards for probably a comparable cost to renting. I ordered a sample from them to check out the quality and colors. I discovered them through another knottie's bio...

I don't know why it seems when vendors recommend other vendors they always seem to be the more expensive ones...whats up with that!?!?!?!?

    Good luck!

I went through MPE Events for linens.  They'd worked in my venue many times before so they had all the table measurements on file.  They knew exactly what size everything they needed to get.  All I had to do was tell them how many tables I was going to have.  I didn't know that until about 3-4 weeks before the wedding when I made the seating chart.  I just e-mailed them the total number of tables and the total number of guests (I asked for a few extra chair covers to cover extra people showing up).

I worked with DeVonna at Chair Covers and Linens (linenhero.com) and she worked with the venue enough to know the sizes.  And she called a couple of weeks ahead to confirm.  I would expect this from your linen vendor.

I just kept the while table cloth and bought the napkins/table runners online.

Ditto everyone else - the linen company should know what sizes they need based on the basic info of the tables, like round vs. square and number seated. Call a few comanies for quotes and see what they ask of you.
