[QUOTE]Because it's slow here and icky out...
If you could go one place in the world where would it be? Italy

What is your favorite place you have been to? Tough question...beach - Roatan in Honduras...city - Prague

Name a place you would never visit and why? Mexico City...actually any city in Mexico (having said that, I actually have been to cities in Mexico, but I wouldn't choose to go back). Central American cities are the most dense in the world, I hate feeling closed in, they are a little more filled with litter and I hate being hot. I might never visit LA...seems like its rushed and there is a lot of traffic.

Where is your honeymoon going to be? New England

What's your biggest travel-related fear? I hate when planes take off and lands...other than that, maybe getting really sick...I know of a few situations where people got really sick overseas in developing countries and that's scary.

Do you prefer group tours or exploring on your own? Exploring on my own

Have you traveled to a foreign country alone? Would you? I have traveled to the countries alone, but I've never taken a trip alone...ie, I always met up with somebody. I wouldn't travel completely alone, cause I like to have at least one companion, but I like to limit it to one or two people I travel with well.

    Yeay polls!!!

And you already know my love for travel MD :-)

If you could go one place in the world where would it be? Way to hard to pick. Based on my mood right now, probably Japan. Some days it's India. Other days its Jordan lol.

What is your favorite place you have been to? Budapest and Prague (I really can't stick to one)Name a place you would never visit and why? Iraq. For reasons that I don't feel need explaining... Where is your honeymoon going to be? Still deciding between Costa Rica and Hawaii (never been to either). We are a lil limited as we have to stay at a Marriott, and they aren't on some tropical islands. What's your biggest travel-related fear? At this point, I don't know if I have one. Maybe losing my passport? I wouldn't call it a fear as it can be taken care of, but it would be a huge pain.Do you prefer group tours or exploring on your own? Depends on the country. Usually going on my own.Have you traveled to a foreign country alone? Would you? Um I did go to Germany with a group that I didn't know until the day before we left, but I don't count that as going alone really. I don't know if I would go completely alone as part of the adventure for me is sharing it with someone.

I think I would turn around and leave.Where is your honeymoon going to be? Isla Mujeres in Mexico... i cannot wait! What's your biggest travel-related fear? being kidnapped. Do you prefer group tours or exploring on your own? exploring on my own.Have you traveled to a foreign country alone? If you could go one place in the world where would it be? French PolynesiaWhat is your favorite place you have been to? Utila, Honduras, a SCUBA divers/backpackers paradise. Hiking in Slovakia was pretty cool too.Name a place you would never visit and why? Saudi Arabia. Because I'm female. There's a great article that explains more a few years back by a single female journalist for the LA Times.Where is your honeymoon going to be? Dunno yet. What's your biggest travel-related fear? Violence (I've traveled in some rougher parts of the world - think chicken bus with machetes or machine guns - depending on how "nice" the chicken bus was)Do you prefer group tours or exploring on your own? On my own/with a friend. Group tours seem too confining, although I've never actually been on one.Have you traveled to a foreign country alone? Would you? Yes and definitely. All foreign countries are obviously not created equal though and I've felt more comfortable on my own in some than others, usually in relation to how much machismo there is in that particular part of the world

Flowerstar - what were you doing in Utlia? I did a semester in Honduras, and spent some of my spring break in the bay islands (i was in roatan, but spent time in utila). And what part of Slovakia did you go? My sister lived there for a few years and I really enjoyed traveling around there with her.

JB - my best friend goes to the isla de mujeres a lot...she lives on the gulf coast and absolutely loves that island. I'm jealous!

When I was in 10th grade I went to Australia with a group called People to People. They were other people my age, but I only met them a few times before. I'm not sure if that would count. I would go on an organized tour without knowing anyone.

MRads: I backpacked through Central America for a few weeks a couple of different times in between college and medical school. I spent most of my time in Utila SCUBA diving during the day and at night at this bar run by French/Dutch immigrants near the water taxi pier that had a deck area over the water. In Slovakia, I crossed over from Poland on foot in the car lane at the border crossing and found a car for hire to the mountains. I stayed in Transka Lomnica (spelling?) up in the mountains in eastern Slovakia for a while and flitted around a bit from little town to little town on the tram system they have there (I guess to accommodate skiers? I was there during the summer).

Man, all of this travel talk is making me want to dust off my passport...
