I am very recently engaged and have a couple of questions that I would like to get opinions on. I am not going for a super-traditional wedding with the bells and whistles, I more want a "lets have fun and hang out, oh, and there will be a ceremony" feel, haha.
The man and I always talked about getting married at Yellowstone National Park, and I think we are going to roll with it! So, here are my questions (that I have so far!), keeping in mind most attendees who choose to come will be coming from NY:
-Is Memorial Day 2012 a good weekend? Yellowstone is a vacation spot in itself, and many of my friends and family want to visit it anyway.
-What meals/activities does the couple actually pay for? I know paying for dinner after the ceremony is a given, but is there anything else we should keep in mind? We are on a tight budget, but so is everyone else, and we want to maximize the fun. Is it OK to set up group meals at restaraunts in the park and have guests pay for their meals (e.g., dinner the night before the ceremony, breakfast the next morning, etc., but not including the "reception" meal)?
Thanks for your opinions! We are more go-with-the-flow kind of people, but I know some guests might expect different, so it's helpful to get opinions.
"It starts out all very nice, two people promising to be together forever, I'll die when you die, my life meant nothing until you used my toothbrush. Then you start planning the wedding. Aunt Junie's allergic to milk. Uncle Momo's off his meds..."
