Affordable venues between LG and Albany?

Can anyone suggest some affordable venues between Lake George and Albany? We would like to stay around $50-$55 p/person (food, bar, tax and grat). Thanks!

The only place that I know of that will do under $100 per person is Colonie Country Club ($84 per person).  I wouldn't even try Saratoga because the lowest you will find there is $100 per person on a Friday or Sunday.

Try the Crystal Cove, I did not look into them but hear they are reasonably priced. We are actually currently working out our venue contract with the Lodge in Saratoga, and they are between $65 and $120 per person depending on what you want on the menu, and we also looked at Longfellows in Saratoga which was reasonably priced as well, even on Saturdays during wedding season. The Appel Inn is just south of Albany in Altamont and is fairly priced, we really liked their venue, and the River Stone manor in Schnectady had a range of options as well. Good luck!

Great Escape Lodge has a package for $55/person. It includes unlimited beer, wine and soda for 5 hours, fruit, veggie, and cheese displays during cocktail hour, and dinner. No cake cutting charge.  We are using them, and they are great. They really work with you and have a wonderful wedding coordinator and banquet team.

Longfellows in Saratoga a package right around $60 pp, includes the meal, bar and cake, tax and grat. would be extra, though, so that might put it over your budget.  Some friends of mine got married at the Lodge at Echo Lake in Warrensburg, it's beautiful, but I have no idea what their prices are.

If you dont care about the time, you can negotiate the best prices this winter and before spring 2010. Places that are not booked with dates would welcome the business if they dont have anything booked as more likely they wont get a wedding with so little leeway. You can always tell them what your budget is and if they say no then its no skin off your back.

I haven't booked a date yet but I am thinking about April of next year. 8-9 mos away...much to do but what the heck. :)
